Our late checkout was not properly added to the system, we had people trying to get int the room in the morning. Even had reception call us wondering why we had not checked out. Our room felt like it was in the basement. Had to carry case up several flights of stairs just to carry down again to our room.

Reception Staff did not ask am i okay to climb steep stairs & no lift so had to ask to swap alocated room. Bed was smaller than average double Size. Toilet like a Carovan style design & in tiny space & noisy , not like photo's online of Other hotel rooms . Windows were screwed & bolted closed, did not feel Safe due to 'No fast exit in emergency like a Fire' Do not think would stay here again due to lack of space & lack of Oxygen or fresh air inside of hotel.

I booked this for my daughters, as they were in town for the Mika concert. They were thrilled to be upgraded and had a very pleasant stay!

The room looked nice and it was clean. The staff were nice. However, the bed had a mattress topper which is fine, but every time you moved you could hear the springs in the mattress underneath. Worst of all was when you flushed the toilet used the sink or shower a unit behind the toilet made a really LOUD noise, which I assume was refilling the water tank. You could also hear next doors room as well. TV was also poor as you had to angle the remote just right. Also, couldn’t watch anything on iPlayer as keep buffering and coming up with an error message and you had to start over again.

Room is abit rundown but comfy still. There is no lift so carrying big luggage can be a hassle and when you have elderly member. Staff service was amazing.

Very basic and not worth the price. All the juice glasses at breakfast were disgusting and wouldn’t even touch…. Its a bed only, consider a youth hostel!

The lady at the desk was told it was my husbands birthday. They said he could have a birthday drink & birthday card, there were also some balloons in the room. A lovely touch. Our only gripe was there was no hot water at all in the room. We went to get the person at the desk but after him trying to sort it out himself, checking the plumbing. He couldnt do it either. We had to go upstairs to shower. We were given a free breakfast because of all the hassle. When room 23 doesnt have have hot water then it shouldnt be let out. They also dont have lifts at this hotel. It was spotless,we came back to find a we we came back before

The room looks spacious in the picture but very small and tight in person. The shower is a bit of inconvenience as the water gets too cold and too hot abruptly. Love the location as its just a steps away from Christmas Markets and so close to the train station. The staffs are very friendly and courteous. And our room's view is the majestic Manchester Cathedral. Overall i would love to come back.

The hotel itself is really cute. Full of history. Close to shopping and pubs. Parking is located a bit of a walk away. Also I thought the room would be larger based on the photo when I booked. No worries as it was just for one night.

The room was nothing more than a converted cupboard. The temperature in my room was totally unbearable and when raised with staff, the nonchalant attitude of you have a fan was disgraceful. The bathroom was again absolutely tiny so much so I had to sit on the toilet side on - I am 5’8 !! This hotel is just not fit for purpose and I wish I had read the reviews before booking, I was there one night and frankly that was enough for anyone. If I could have got into another hotel I would have moved I asked who I should speak to about my stay and again was greeted by a shrug of the shoulders and told there’s no one here to speak to Absolutely dreadful

Came to Manchester to go see Peter Kay. Few minute walk away from the arena. In the city centre. Has a pub attached to the hotel. Worried about noise but once we were in our room it was silent. Very impressed with this. Very clean. Lovely staff and had a great breakfast in the morning. Would 100% stay here again.

We love this place as a bar and somewhere to eat.. We should have left it there. My wife has always wanted to stay. Positives - it's in city centre. Negatives - On arrival my wife found a packet of tablets on the floor suggesting the room hadn't been vacuumed. No air con but staff provided a fan, to be fair the building is 200 years old. Bathroom, shower is awful like you put in a bed sit. Bedroom - Sides are sticky, not sure been wiped down. Bed not comfy and made a noise everytime moved. General stuff - Kettle doesn't fit under bathroom sink so doesn't fill properly. Arrived back after a concert and asked reception for a bottle of water, £1.50.. We are in a bar, she did offer to go get me a pint of water, but told her it was fine, as to hot to be running up and down.. Anyway, will drink/eat here, but sadly will never stay again.. £154 room only.. Nope!!

Overall the building was smelly and they have room frangance everywhere to try kill the smell of the old, beauty carpet. It’s a beautiful old building that needs to keep clean with dignity and pride.

Avoid this hotel. Apartment smelt as soon as we walked in. Toilet was in the middle of the living room and bedroom with no window so all the smell goes in the room. The door to get in the toilet is around 3/4 foot so you need to crouch. Bedroom floors were slanted.
