DO NOT STAY HERE unless you’re okay with:
1. Having your catalytic converter stolen, your window smashed, and your belongings taken.
2. Waking up to the smell of weed in your room and hallways.
3. Asking for an extra pillow or blanket for a pullout sofa that only comes with a single paper-thin sheet.
The main issue: My truck, along with 6–7 other vehicles, were broken into early Monday morning after the football game.
The reason: The hotel forces guests to park in an unguarded “overflow” lot across the street in order to keep the main, safer lot available for their affiliated Paschal’s restaurant.
To make matters worse, staff woke my entire family after midnight to tell me my truck would be towed unless I moved it from the curb of the guarded lot into the unguarded one--despite a different security officer assuring me just hours earlier that it was fine where it was. I told the guy running the counter that lot wasn't safe and unfortunately I was right.
The company that owns both properties, H.J. Russell & Co., knows this setup puts guests at risk but doesn’t see to care. I'm going to assume this is because hotel guests aren’t repeat customers like restaurant patrons. Based on the staff’s casual response, I’d assume this happens all the time. "Fill out this form and here is a plastic bag and some tape for your window."
Bottom Line: Stay away from here and downtown ATL in general.
