This place is beaurkful with very friendly, helpful staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here!!

The property wasn’t as advertised, queen beds were doubles, breakfast was just a few packaged snacks and the unit was so hot that we were promised fans 3 times but they never showed up. Overpriced for wheat we ended up with.

Very friendly staff. Room was nice and spacious. Made us feel like we were on a real vacation instead of in a box the way a typical hotel room is designed. Balcony was lovely and very private. Although each room had balconies, they were offset of each other so you still had full privacy. Extra coffee supplies were easily accessible in the main lobby area as well as fruits, muffins, yogurt and juice in the mornings. Each wing had its own room on the main level with a sign saying “ICE and POP” however those rooms were empty so was disappointed about not being able to grab ice for our coolers. Loved that they had standing outdoor ashtrays at the bottom of each wing. Made me feel more relaxed about smoking instead of having to go over to a very strict smoking section on the property the way a typical hotel does. Very pet friendly! I didn’t travel with pets but was lovely to see other guests walking their dogs each morning and evening.

Very quiet area with beautiful views. Super friendly staff. You can see they are working hard at updating property . Will definitely be back

Property was peaceful, either ocean view or garden view. Was under renovation didn't have a couple things.

Very nice place but not close to anything and nothing in the hotel to buy or eat but uber eats is available so that’s kinda okay. I’d love to stay there again if they had room service or even a bar to buy drinks and snacks but staff was friendly and helpful

Beautiful waterfront view! Friendly and helpful staff! Appears to be renovating restaurant and patio attached to lounge needs some maintenance. Glad room had ceiling fan and portable fan. Fridge did not appear to be working.

Enjoyed our 1 night stay at Painters Lodge.

The place looks good . The lobby has a terrible smell . We had initial discrepancies in payment but the room was good . Toilet seat was dirty with some blood had to wipe it myself

It was great. Staff are wonderful and courteous. Change in ownership so they were still getting things fixed and sorted out but the staff were very good. They had fresh apples throughout the day with free breakfast (yogurt, muffins and apple juice). Beautiful ocean view quiet lounge area to enjoy and relax.

Front staff was lovely and informative and the makeup wipes on the rooms were the cherry on top! See you soon!

This is a beautiful location and the staff were pleasant but there were several issues. 1. The room we booked was for 6 people but they could only give us 1 key. That was incredibly inconvenient. 2. The restaurant and bar were closed - but advertised as open on the website 3. The tourist services were closed 4. Construction debris was in front of our building making the view quite unpleasant We paid a high cost - this should have been much less considering the issues

Staff were great. Property is gorgeous. Views were stunning. Rooms are nice and spacious, a bit dated, but charming.

We scored an AMAZING price on Hotels.Com for this property. We stayed 3 nights in Room 325 which was a King Loft room - it was HUGE - with a queen pullout sofa on the main floor and king bed upstairs. Two balconies with view of the ocean and pool area. Room was very dated although the bathroom was updated. Had a kitchen (but no cutlery, no dish cloths, no dish soap, no microwave and fridge did not have a freezer). Room not Air Conditioned so upstairs is very warm but we opened the balcony doors (was 21c when we were there in June) and it cooled off pretty well. They have fans all over the room so that helped. Breakfast was included (pleasant surprise) - it was a do it yourself with muffins, yogurt, juice boxes, tea, coffee, apples and granola bars. One day it was only granola bars and juice but for what we paid it was still great. The grounds are huge and the main hotel is on the water so you can watch the seals and eagles play and the cruise ships go by. I think they are doing some renos too so should only get better. Nice place - recommended!

Lovely historic site - if you like history and the ocean it’s a great place!

Current owners took ownership in May 2025 and is updating and renovating the buildings and facilities. Its a historical hotel and long history of celebrities visiting this place. Once the renovations are complete it will regain it's 5 star rating.
