We had a nice stay

NB At the moment, there are road works in front of the hotel, so access is by foot only. Complimentary parking at the rear of the hotel was available. The lady in Reception who checked us in was very friendly and efficient. Our room had recently been renovated, as had the sauna, the bed was very comfortable, though the room’s furniture, mottled grey leather sofas, were unexpected and quite un-Scandic. At the time of our stay there was no heating (nor aircon) in our room. As it was a colder summer day, we thankfully had the sauna to compensate for the lack of heating. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices, but the level of service was unprofessional. As an example, we asked for a basic Finnish breakfast speciality, & the answer was “Ei O” Perhaps a customer service refresher course for the restaurant & kitchen staff would be beneficial.

We were a bit surprised to find this nice hotel in Varkaus. The room was a bit old but everything was working well. We enjoyed the plenty breakfast. Next time we choose Oscar again.

"Old fashion hotel" (in a good way), nice rooms and friendly staff. Been here before, will come again when staying in Varkaus.

We stayed here for one night on our way from Kuopio to Savonlinna in July 2010. Basically I'm quite happy with the hotel, it was otherwise like we waited for a 3 star hotel except there was +29 degrees in the room (as it was a very hot weather outside!). In the hotel description there was an air condition mentioned but that was useless. I asked about that from the reception guy but he commented that unfortunately it is already working at full power. Instead in the reception it was quite cool and nice but I understood that part of hotel was renovated. The room was quiet and breakfast was good. The hotel is in the center of the city but some bars were close to it, that's why I feel that the environment was not that nice. Hotel's parking place was already full as we arrived quite late, we needed to leave our car to the street near a night club but luckily no damages to the car.

Fint bemötande, trevlig personal, sköna sängar och tyst rum för en god sömn. Välsmakande middag med fin service. Vi kommer gärna åter!

Erityisesti arvostan yhden hengen huonetta, jossa on yksi vuode. Huone oli viihtyisä ehkä juuri sen takia. Kahden vuoteen huone yhdelle on jotenkin loukkaavaa. Huone oli siisti, henkilökunta huumorintajuista.

Huone oli siisti ja klassisesti sisustettu. Aamupala tuore ja toki vanhat klassikot (muna, pekoni ja puuro) löytyivät

Mainio aamiainen

Siisti hotelli ja helppo majoittua koirienkin kanssa. Saunallinen kaksio oli mukava! Aamupala oli ihan jees, tuore leipä kruunasi perunteisen hotelliaamiaisen.

Huone oli erittäin siisti ja sänky mukava. Hotelli on jo jonkin ikäinen, joka näkyy. Aamiainen oli erinomainen ja kuuden minuutin munat olivat parhaat missään syömäni; valkuainen hyytynyt ja keltuainen sopivan löysä. Vastaanoton palvelu oli todella hyvä. Viihdyimme.
