We stayed here during the duration of my professional exams, which was being held at the same venue. The bar and restaurant provide good food at good prices. The lobby, restaurant and halls are nicely decorated. When we first checked in, we were initially given a room which was already occupied by someone. The person who served us didn’t volunteer any information on her own either, about how to get our room, or where breakfast will be served. This basic information was only provided on asking. The room was old and tired, the curtains were dusty and didn’t cover the whole length of the windows with an overlap, the pillow was hard and extremely uncomfortable, and the air conditioning didn’t cool at all. Our room also had a connecting door to the adjacent room, which let in a lot of noise from that room.

Great value hotel, friendly staff, just one complaint that the pillow was so thick I woke up with a really stiff neck. They did say in the morning I could have had a different pillow, but I could have done with that information when I arrived not when I already had a stiff neck.

One of the bath towels had a dried and deep blood stain on it. The tables in the bar area were sticky and it took well over 40 minutes before glasses were collected but even then, the tables were not sprayed and cleaned. Having a coffee first thing in the morning and the table was still sticky. The air conditioning in our room never worked - we had a fan but that is no substitute for AC. Sleep was all but impossible in the roasting heat - and I can sleep almost anywhere and in any circumstances. The power went off during the night and this set off the alarms in each room every few minutes until the power came back on. The staff were friendly and very welcoming, but we won't be staying here again. I don't expect to come home from a weekend away needing a few days to recover since a spate of stag weekends in my 20's.

The staff is not helpful, I had an executive room. The room was worn down and I stayed there for 2 nights and the room was not cleaned once. The reception desk do not help you. The phones in the room do not work. You have to call reception through the main hotel number.

Booked through Expedia as a double but we were given a twin. When we asked for a double as per booking the only option was to pay an upgrade fee of £25. Not really the hotel's fault as the information came through incorrectly from Expedia. The double room we received in the end was fine. Food & service for both dinner and breakfast was good. Don't book the breakfast through Expedia though as it is £3 per person cheaper if you pay for it at reception. The surrounding woods are nice for an evening walk. On the whole its a good hotel. Looks like lots of weddings at weekends.

Facilities were really good and staff were great. The room was really spacious considering I went for the cozy double size. It had everything I needed, a fan (it was very hot that day), tea-making equipment, an iron, hairdryer, soap, good size TV, parking was free and easy. Room was clean but not spotless. Bed was springy and not supportive so I didn't sleep that well though. I also used the spa for the hot tub and swim, which was a lovely start to the day, but playing pop anthems at 7am over the music system was a bit much for me, I prefer my spa experience to be chill. Also paid for the breakfast, which was very basic fare, the scrambled eggs were quite strange and rubbery, but the veggie sausages cooked to order were good. If they changed the mattress, music, and improved the breakfast I would give it 5 stars.

My husband & I were in room 1001, at first passing the very posh rooms(executive,),we thought our room will be amazing. We then had to go into a basic corridor & we thought oh jeeze,we are in staff accommodation, then up a few stairs, then into our corridor(which stank of grass(not hotels fault). The room to be honest was clean & better than we expected.Breakfast was really good. All staff were lovely.

Parking was great, staff friendly, just disappointed that the pool had a cover charge. The hotel is promoted as having a pool and not until you scroll down is the cover charge mentioned, If it said "pool (for a fee)" it would have been more obvious. £7.00 each when staying as a guest is not something I have encountered before.

Room was clean although decor was tired and in need of a refresh. We weren't informed at check in that we would be charged to use the spa facilities so unexpected cost of £7.00 each per day. Only 2 small pillows on bed, asked at reception for additional pillows and was handed them from the reception desk to take to room whilst trying to carry luggage. Not ideal. We didn't book for breakfast or eat in the hotel so I can't comment.
