Walking distance of anything and everything you needed. Very safe and very welcoming.

Really enjoyed our stay! I love that it’s right on playa norte. The views are amazing! The only thing I didn’t like is that we got our room on the lower level and I would have preferred a room on a higher floor. Other than that, very clean rooms, and the shower had excellent water pressure, something I hadn’t had luck in other hotels. I will deff be back!

Staff was great. Beach was very small. Our particular room didn’t have an ocean view. Would not recommend. Overall ok hotel just wouldn’t go back as there are better options for similar price.

We had a great time but definitely a few things to mention! If you are looking for a luxury hotel/resort, this isn’t it. The power went out on two of our four nights and it seemed like maybe this was a regular event. The shower had hot water for maybe half of our showers. The beach access is public and the beach is very crowded. The pool and the food were really nice and the staff and locals were very friendly! We had a good time but were ready to head home when the trip was over.

The staff demonstrated exceptional attentiveness and courtesy. Chepo, in particular, provided outstanding service, consistently offering assistance with a helpful demeanor and a pleasant smile. Julieta was equally amiable, ensuring our vacation experience was enjoyable. Our family highly recommends this establishment. The only minor inconvenience encountered was the quality of the bedding, which was uncomfortable. Overall, we anticipate returning next year.

Being so close to playa north

The beach was great and the hotel was ok. The AC did work great, so that was a plus. We normally stay at the Privilege, but they were booked, so we needed to stay somewhere else for a quick unplanned 3 day getaway. Prices seemed a little unreasonable, but food Quality was ok. If you get up early, and want to get to the beach, this is a problem. They set up the chairs and umbrellas kind of late, sometimes as late as 9am.

Location location location!! Staff were all super nice and friendly. Will definitely stay there again!

Great place and great service

I have no doubt that this is the best hotel to book on Isla if you want to be on Playa Norte. Rooms were spacious and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They addressed all of our concerns. When a state worker yelled at my son for accidentally grabbing a beach chair from the pile and placing on the beach too early (apparently they’re not allowed to set up chairs and umbrellas before 9am), the front desk wanted to submit a complaint to the city on our behalf. They truly made our comfort and convenience our top priority. As far as the beach goes, you can’t get any better than right smack in the middle of Playa Norte. It was also within walking distance of plenty great restaurants, not to mention the food carts are right outside too. We had churros and fried plantains almost every night for dessert. Food service was great and there’s something to be said about the quality of food when it is not all inclusive, it’s just better! My family and I had a great time and the staff at Ixchel had a lot to do with that.

The hotel is among the best places my family and I have ever stayed. I travel for a living and spend 80% of my life in hotels from 4*-5*+. The staff were exceptionally well prepared, equipped, and willing to help in every single matter. They provided the kindest service as well, not a corporate enforced kind of service but a genuine desire to make their guests feel at home, welcome, comfortable, and happy. The beach front is second to none, the restaurant was extremely clean and delicious. The drinks well made. The beach service from the staff quick, attentive, easy, and very helpful always. The hotel room itself was well stocked, everything was super clean, elegant, and comfortable. It’s such a great hotel my wife and I discussed at length when we will return and are seriously considering coming for many weeks at a time. As a well versed international traveler this hotel has been nothing short of a “miracle” to use my sons’ words. We walked around also on the island to look at other facilities and from what we saw this was the best, it well equipped for children, but not in a Disney sort of immature way. Highest recommendation possible.
