Great accommodation, good food and pleasant stay

Old world charm! Though some modernization needed I hope new owners will do it thoughtfully so that it will not take away thr historical value of the hotel.

Wonderful heritage hotel - however, bathrooms dated and shower facility hard to use (in old fasioned bath) Staff excellent.

I occupied room No. 214. This is my 4th stay during the past 04 years. Beds were terrible. Bed springs were all very loose and saggy and it is more like a hammock. Once you get close to the edge you tend to topple over. Had a narrow shave twice. It leaves you with a terrible back ache in the morning. Toilet was leaking and water from the cistern wets the floor every time the toilet is flushed. They said the ice machine is broken and could not get any ice cubes delivered to the room. I just begin to wonder whether they gave me the worst possible room being a Sri Lankan leaving the better rooms for foreign guests. On previous occasions I can't remember encountering a problem of this nature. Even the quality of food has deteriorated and it is not any better than an average Rest House run by local authorities.

We loved this old colonial hotel with it's very Britishness . Over 100 years old and still keeping up the old traditions. The gardens are well maintained and beautiful. Excellent food and delightful staff.

Enjoyed the stay without any trouble. Can ask for more than this in Bandarawela. Conveniently located. Wish the management good luck!

Great value for money. Food and service were very good. Gave us an alternative experience of Sri Lanka. You can't fault it but it is what it is and where it is - so don't expect 5 star luxury and services. Be aware that travelling takes a lot longer than you might think in this whole area.

it was nice to see some old hotel staff who had been working there for a long time and they were friendly and obliging as ever and made us homely.

The only plus point is the heritage tag of the property. This was a good experience from that point. Hotel is well decorated with old memorabilia which gives a look into the past.

Great hotel. Looks old but the place has a lot of charm and lovely fires to sit around when it gets a little chilly. Service and food was excellent. We were made to feel so welcome and would definitely stay again.

Personally, this is now one of my favorite hotels! The hotel and town are a great base for exploring the hills region
