The front desk staff was friendly. The room was clean with an awesome view of the bay. Breakfast was solid, though the eating area gets full quickly. The only drawback was the highway right outside and the associated noise. A quality stay, overall.

Great staff and the hotel provided transportation to downtown for festival. Towels were very nice. The room faced the roof and was not aware there was an additional charge for resort fees but overall very good.

Room 309 has a hole in the wall missing paint and plaster. Room was a bit dingy.

We had a very pleasant stay. Breakfast service and options could be improved. Housekeeping is only available by request by 8am which was a minor inconvenience. Facilities are clean and enjoyable

Decent location and close to downtown. The hotel had a nice location and decent amenities. It was a little aged and had some updates. The breakfast area was rather small and a lot of people were sitting in the same room. The breakfast was not great, but it was provided. The room was spacious and had great views of the lake. There was trash in the cans in the room that were not emptied, and it may be question the cleanliness of the room. Besides that, everything else was good.

We generally liked the hotel. The only issues were the shower was not hot and neither were the hot tubs by the pool.

We had a “girls time” away and enjoyed the suite space to visit, play games and just relax.

So much about this stay was good - the room was spacious, quiet. The bed was comfortable. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and a guest laundry. But the staff seemed stressed and not overly friendly. The breakfast was typical. Easy walk across the major highway to a Walgreens and a very good grocery store (Tom’s Food) an easy drive.

I’m not a fan of traverse city but was in town for a softball tournament. Hotel is nice and clean. Beautiful beach. My problem ended up not being able to get breakfast. We had to leave before 7am to get to the ball field. This meant no breakfast. Had they opened it at 6:30 we could have had breakfast. They had a wonderful breakfast last year so I would assume it would be good again this year. That’s why we stayed there again. But it is very expensive almost $400 a night. Without being able to get breakfast there it added another expense. I wish they considered there customers because there was several other softball players there who experienced the same problem.

Great place to stay, very convenient to everything. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Laura who runs the breakfast is the Best we've ever experienced - caring, thoughtful, sweet & kind. Always there to help out the kids who didn't know how to work the waffle machine or split milk everywhere.

Very costly for stay. Location of room & size of the room.

Very nice private feel with the private beach, fire pits, lawn chairs, pool/hot tubs, jacuzzi in the room, nice lounge area, newly delivered Moomers Ice Cream pits in the "snack"/store for normal local price. Hard to beat a pint of Moomers sitting in an Adirondack chair on the beach with a fire pit going on a cool night. Manager who checked us in was great and put in some extra work to get us into a nice room.

Very pleasant check-in, nice rooms

This was not our first time staying at Cherry Tree. The staff is courteous, rooms are spacious, and the hotel is kept clean. For this trip in particular, we opted for a room without a view, since it was only for one night. Unfortunately, we ended up getting a room that looked directly into the indoor pool. Coupled with some rowdy kids in the evening, it was a bit difficult to drown out the noise when going to bed. As the property was far from full on this particular evening, it would’ve been nice to have the choice at another room regardless of view. If possible, it would be incredibly helpful to know when booking that the room looks into the interior pool.
