Not a 4 star as advertised. Property showing its age. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Room was average. Restaurant was OK, nothing special.

This was our 3rd stay in less than 1 year at this hotel. Just love it. The hotel has such a wonderful mid-century vibe but the star of the hotel is the staff. We checked in with a large group in front of us and although we had a reservation the hotel was full and we were given an upgrade. Can't forget to comment on the breakfast, it is wonderful and a full breakfast with meats & eggs & pastries. I normally do not eat breakfast but do when staying here. The beach is right out the back door. There is lovely swimming pool & tanning area. It is so clean - Check out the extra toilet paper roll, some talent there. It is only a short walk into town & bike rentals are at the top of the hill. I must do a special comment to Ania for her over the top service. The ownership is lucky to have such upbeat and helpful staff. We will be going again soon for a relaxing 4 days. It is only a 2 1/2 hour ferry ride from Funchal with a bus at the port to take you to the center of town. Cost is 1.6 euro. When you leave, it is in the same place to take you back to the ferry. We did the Island bus tour this time, our expectations were low, but it was recommended by Ania, only cost 10 euro per person and well worth the 2 1/2 hour tour.

This was our 2nd visit & it did not disappoint. We will return annually to this hotel. The staff is so knowledgeable & friendly. Hotel is easy access to shopping area with bike rental a 5 minute walk away. Hotel offers wonderful breakfast with fruit, yogurts, cheeses, meats, and also hot service of eggs, bacon, mushrooms, etc. Love the breads & pastries! Room was spacious & comfortable with view of gardens. Bathroom could use a bit of upgrade (reason for a 4 rating). The hotel outdoor cafe sits on the beach! Golden sand for all with beach towels provided by the hotel. This is an amazing hotels with fabulous staff. There is a very inexpensive bus from the ferry to center of town and then a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel. (No taxi necessary) Take the lido walk closer to the beach for better trolley pulling pavement, it offer stunning views of the dunes and foliage. This is a great hotel for a romantic holiday for fun with the family. Just love it!

Was a fantastic stay, the hotel itself was immaculate with fantastic friendly staff. Direct access to the beach was brilliant and the hotel pool was just what we needed. We didn’t book half board but did try the restaurant and we were very happily surprised, the foot was superb! We would highly recommend and are already working on next year!

For a 4-star hotel could be better. It was too expensive for the quality of food and no AC in the rooms... It was on the beach so if it were cheaper, I would have stayed longer.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing me to check in early which was very much appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The only downside was the limited breakfast options, but it was still satisfactory. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its excellent service and comfortable accommodations.

We have book a 4 stars hotel to get more confort, We booked a bedroom with balcony, on the arrival we get a bedroom with no balcony, then we need it to wait untill 6.30pm to get our balcony bedroom, As you see on the pictures the hotel has no condition to be 4 stars should be 3 stars hotel. The weather in porto santo was a bit rainy, so we spend some more time on the hotel. They didnt had any bars or restaurants open to the guests inside the hotel, its durty. And you will boring if you go to these hotel. Evan the gym was durty the machines was sweaty from previous people only thing they have on the gym is treadmills and bikes, we felt so boring on the hotel. Then they have a restaurante open to the public and guests all together on the 1st day we went there for our lunch my salad was old and black and we wait 1hr.45mints, next day we just take the risk of just having a coffee we ask for the flat whites and was horrible and we wait 1hr for it. And paid 3€ for 2 coffees, if you got up the road you pay half of the price for the 2. Ill never go to these hotel ever again

Great beach-front hotel and just 5 min walk from the town centre. Excellent breakfast by the beach and the on-site restaurant is open until 11pm for drinks, snacks or full meals.

We only spent one night at the hotel as we were in an apartment in Funchal for a week and had a jaunt to Porto Santo on the ferry. It was a treat from start to finish. Porto Santo Island is very beautiful and peaceful after the hustle and bustle of Madeira's capital and the hotel was ideally situated on the outskirts of the main(!) town, Vila Baleira and right on the long, sandy beach. The room was spacious and the bed was huge! Everything was clean and well presented and if you wanted sun loungers and a pool they were provided and with a glorious view. The fact that the hotel is built around an old tower gives it character too. We had a lunch in the beachside restaurant - salad and burger - and the food was good. We had dinner elsewhere but the breakfast was excellent with a huge and varied buffet and generous opening hours , from early till late. All in all, a delightful experience and at a surprisingly reasonable price.

Arrived late off the ferry. The young lady iat reception was lovely. Hotel directly on the beach with a great beach restaurant and beach bar/restaurant . Brilliant location only a couple of minutes into the centre We walked a long way up the beach on the first day and passed two snack and beach bars. The sea and Beach are lovely and clean. Last day we asked if the room had someone in after us , I think it did but they said we could keep it until 3.30. All the staff were really pleasant and helpful. I wanted to stay longer but hoping to return late September

Enjoyed a 2 night /3 day break in late May 14 . Hot & sunny weather so we enjoyed strolling the fabulous beach & were delighted with the old fashioned charm of the island; simply another world . As always the Hotel Torre Praia was top class providing excellent service & value . We cannot think of a better place to enjoy a short sunny break.

The hotel was about 500meters from the center of the town but felt beautifully isolated and located directly on the beach. The included breakfast was fantastic, the staff, helpful.
