Lovely hotel with great staff and food. Only criticism is the carpark. I was charged £18 to park overnight as a guest, which i thought would have heen included in the room rate so came as a big surprise.

The bathroom needs cleaning properly! The sink had a residue in it ( I wiped it down with a small towel and the only cleaning product to hand….shower gel! ). There is some black mould starting on the tiles and water damage at the bottom of the door frame in side the bathroom. The room was very hot even with the window open jar. It would be really uncomfortable in the summer. We were near a door and it’s really noisy! I was annoyed at being charged £36 for car parking having not been told this at check-in. I would have parked elsewhere.

Small room but very typical of hotel rooms in England. Had all the necessary amenities and comforts. Very pretty room and hotel in general. Friendly staff. Only downside is expensive parking.

I is a very quaint hotel close to the city center. The room was small but comfortable. The pearling lot was quite tight and the entry gates are very narrow but all of it was very charming. We were only there 1 night and it served its purpose well. The staff were delightful!

Disappointing - very dirty pee stained mattress. I’ve emailed the hotel twice to avoid leaving this negative feedback online - but no reply, so here goes … There was an odd smell in the small room, I pulled back the sheets to see a big yellow pee stain on the mattress on one side, along with other stains across mattress. The big pee stain had also transferred to the mattress protector, which suggests the protector was put on the bed while the stain was still damp! I told reception, no apology but they did give me another room - not quite as nice and even smaller, but cleaner. (I maybe should have asked for upgrade or compensation?) The Churchill is a good looking hotel and great location but so very disappointing that they think it’s ok to let guests sleep on filthy mattresses that should be thrown out and replaced. If I’d not checked, then I would have been sleeping on a pee stained mattress (potentially still damp), which is disgusting. I hope no one else is unfortunate to stay in the room until the mattress has been replaced (1st room next to reception). It also raises the question- are any other beds in this dirty condition?

Really friendly staff, lovely garden to sit out and have a drink in. We booked the small double and it was perfect for a couple for a 2 night stay. Delicious wood fire pizza. Will definitely stay again.

My room and the hotel in general were clean. The staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was good. We had an evening meal there, steak night. The steak was cooked to perfection and was very good, however, the sides that it came with were a little underwhelming, standard fried chips, more like french fries and watercress! The wine that came with the steak deal was also good.

I loved that the hotel was close, but not in the old centre. Loved the gardens and shared spaces, and the desk staff were all lovely.

This property was lovely. Located within a short walk from the train station as well as from the city centre. The staff were incredible, and very friendly. The man working the front desk (I did not catch his name, but he was there the morning of April 1st) was lovely to chat with and very helpful! The room was small but had everything we needed, was very clean. The bed was also very comfortable. The only thing I would not recommend is the continental breakfast. You don’t get much for £10.95, it’s really just toast, some coffee and some yogurt (which was unpleasantly tart).
