Fantastic place, the staff were really friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was superb and restaurant its self was sited beautifully between the pool and veiws across the valley. Fully enjoyed our stay very relaxing after the rat race of naples.

Villa Rizzo is a beautiful agriturismo getaway. It was a good home base with its proximity to the Amalfi coast, Pompeii, Naples, and the beaches near Salerno. Could have had a little more variety for breakfast but aside from this, it was exactly what we expected.

An amazing venue - would have been helpful if it was a bit more obvious which services are available, and how I could access them (specifically the spa and pool). But once found, they were brilliant!

El hotel es muy recomendable si se mueven en coche ya que está algo alejado de la zona más turística, ideal si se busca tranquilidad y óptimo servicio.

From the outside, it looks a lovely place to stay (and from the description) But from the unsure ladies on reception to the un-smiling waiting staff - we were overall disappointed in the Hotel Villa Rizzo. The hotel guide that is in the rooms needs updating - As we arrived around 3, the information booklet told us sandwiches were available in the pool bar, as the restaurant closed at 3, but when we asked for some we were told that no sandwiches were available - only crisps and a few other snacks We had read that service was slow in the restaurant but when there is only one person serving 10-12 tables - then what more can you expect! Food was fine - but choice was limited. Hotel lacked atmosphere and friendliness but had the potential to be a really nice place to stay for R&R - maybe we visited on an 'off' day?!?!

A great find out in the country. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you will need a car to stay at this hotel, but it is well worth the drive. Located in the middle of a hazelnut grove it is a very lovely and tranquil spot. Salerno and the Amalfi coast are just a short drive away. We had the breakfast package on our trip and ate breakfast at the restaurant every morning, a great way to start your day. We dined at the restaurant one evening and the food, wine and service were outstanding as was the spa that my wife had a massage at. Our only complaint is no wi-fi in the rooms, wi-fi is available but only in the common areas(pool, restaurant).

The hotel has a large country area location and is pretty rural in outlook. We were travelling with our family dog. The room facilities are spacious and practical. The staff were helpful and the hotel was busy - it was a weekend. We were pleasantly surprised with the restaurant and dinner was good. Breakfast was also more than adequate. We enjoyed our stay and would return should we be in the area again.

If you want to be out in the country this is the place to be, we thought it would be nice and quiet but unfortunately there were a pack of dogs that barked ALL night long so we got no sleep. The restaurant was open and food was acceptable but the server seemed uninterested in us being there.

A gem of a small hotel, hidden away in countryside but easy to find as well sign posted along the road. Comfortable bed and pillows and very clean. We did not try to use the TV so don't know about channels. There is no lounge to sit in if the weather is bad but next to the large and beautiful pool there is a covered open air area where food and drinks are served and there are some sofas there. This is where you will want to spend your time as it is picture perfect. You need a car as there are no facilities nearby but the food there was excellent and reasonably priced. They also have a spa which is well hidden away with special offers which you can request by e mail.

Calling it a resort is a bit of a stretch. Not easy to get to. Stayed 2nights for exploring down to Agropoli which was very nice. I'd stay down that way next time. salerno is too busy. Grounds are nice surrounded by trees, good views. Staff was nice. Dinner is too expensive. Go to Giffoni Valle piana to eat and for store, ATM. Salerno is too far. Internet would not work in room or the cafe which was a previous write-up on another review. They said they would look into it but nothing changed. Had to hook up in the reception office which was a hassle. All in all worked out ok once we got the hang of things but I wouldn't return.

I can't say enough good things about Hotel Rizzo. The rooms were beautiful. The grounds were exceptional... complete with two geese and a peacock. The staff went out of their way to provide outstanding service. The outdoor bar, by the pool, staffed by Sergio and his son, was beyond great. If I had to say one negative thing it would be that the services at the spa were below par. All in all I would give this a 5 star rating. We are looking forward to staying there on our next trip.

Hotel Villa Rizzo is in a gorgeous mountain setting. It is a little hard to find, and we had a TomTom gps system, but we eventually zeroed in on it. We checked in at night, and found the restaurant is not open in the winter months. But, there is a little town nearby, and the manager directed us to a good restaurant. We thought we would have the usual room that accommodates three, as our son was traveling with us, but we had a two story, two bedroom, two bath condo! We were able to cook the next night in the ample kitchen, buying supplies from a local grocery. Breakfast is not included, but you can buy it for 10 Euros apiece, a little steep for what was offered. We were given a half-off discount for some reason, which seemed more reasonable. The breakfast room was freezing, so we wore our coats both mornings. To be fair however, I think there was only one or two other guests staying there, and it's expensive to heat rooms in the winter. The second morning, we took our cappuccini and sat in front of the fireplace fire to stay warm. There is a spa and pool, and our son used the gym, which he said served all his needs. The location is quite good if you're wanting to see the Amalfi Coast or Paestum, and then have a retreat to return to, and staying there in the warm months must be very relaxing.

Most hotels are prettier in the pictures online than in real life, but this was the opposite. I was so amazed by the place that I had to go check my reservation to make sure that the price I thought I paid was for 3 nights, not just 1 (it was). The pool area was an amazing place to spend a day or four, and it was a convenient drive to all the sights of the Amalfi coast. The resort is so peaceful, in the middle of the hazlenut grove, and the staff is wonderful. Because it was so isolated in the country, you need a car to get there. The driving was the only downside. The drivers are pretty insane..you have to drive as fast as you can all the time, and if you slow down to look at where you're going, you get honked at. It's doable though, just get a GPS and full insurance on the rental car. Even with the headache of driving, I would happily go back to Villa Rizzo.

Receptionist was very friendly and helpful and showed us around the hotel facilities however when we got to our room we were a bit disappointed with it. It was dark (even with the shutters open) and the pre requested additional bed had not been put up, though to be fair they called the maids who came to do it within half an hour or so. The rooms were also very small. Considering how out of town the hotel is there was very little choice or availability of dining - for instance, there was nothing available at all after 3pm on Sunday which isn't great for us as we have a 3 year old and had to buy food from a supermarket and eat out of the packet in our room. The pool area was nice and the food we did eat in the restaurant was good. We checked out on a Monday when the reception is closed so they wouldn't accept cards to settle our bill, we kept 4 Euro's for the toll fees and had to hand over the rest of our cash.

Far enough into the country side to be perfectly peaceful but only a short drive from Salerno, Amalfi Coast, the Temples etc. to be able to get out and do things daily. Beautiful property with all expected health spa treatments available - which we did not try. A car is necessary.

Beautiful villa 30 minute drive from downtown Salerno. Gorgeous pool, excellent restaurant, big rooms, expansive views of mountains, groves, peacocks. Really wish I could've stayed longer and mountain biked (looks like villa has some available), swam, hiked, and relaxed.

Rooms and pool excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely and tranquil - just the place after a days site seeing. Within an hour of Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum and the dramatic Amalfi coastal drive (need to be very relaxed for that). Would definitlety recommend and would love to go again ourselves.
