At check in our room wasn’t yet ready even tho we arrived after the allotted time. However reception were hugely apologetic and kindly reserved us a table in their very busy lobby area (there was a wedding going on) and brought us drinks whilst we waited. The room on the ground floor was large but dated. The AC didn’t work, not ideal on a very warm weekend. Also, the tv had been unplugged from the power and the aerial cable removed, I assume by the previous occupants. Luckily we were able to find the cable and put it all back together. The bed is very large and comfortable. The bathroom is also a good size with an excellent shower. A good hotel for a very short stay, otherwise the AC not working could have become a real problem.

Good parking, clean room and friendly staff.

Not impressed at all. I booked an accessible room, there was no mention of limitations to getting to the room but my upright rollator was too tall to use on the platform to get me up the 5-6 stairs to reach the accessible bedroom. The staff member told me there was an alternative route & then proceeded to walk me (at pace, even seeing I walk using a rollator & knee brace) round the outside of the hotel, down a steep slope & in through a back door (which was locked between midnight - 6am so between those hours, I had no way to enter the hotel) Arriving in the room, although it was large, that’s the only positive. The bed was small (a double with a very soft mattress & flat pillows), there was damp patches on the wall, the bathroom floor had toothpaste patches from the previous resident(s) which shows the floor hadn’t been cleaned, the fridge stank & had pooled water inside plus wasn’t the slightest bit cold. The air conditioning just about took the heat out of the room but the unit was at the opposite end to the bed & the bathroom was stifling (I had to check the radiator to make sure it wasn’t on as the bathroom was that warm) I previously had rated Holiday Inn above the likes of Travelodge

What can I say? I paid I full before arriving at the hotel but at check in I was asked for a deposit off £30 with was a pre approved payment, when I check my bank the deposit had be taken out and when I asked about this I was told I would get the money back in 5 days! I wasn’t warned about this when I booked, we check in late around 9.30 and there was a wedding on and we got told it was going to be on until 1am, when we got to the room there where a lot of hairs in the shower and bathroom floor after talking to raj about this I was offered a refund and we could leave but all I wanted as a clean room, I was told the hotel was fully booked and raj came to the room and cleaned the shower but when I checked the booking app there where rooms available! Not the best start to are stay

Checked in by a very pleasant helpful lady. Very clean comfortable room with a great walk in shower as requested. Great breakfast and really nice staff. No complaints at all.

Standard hotel, has what you need. Staff wasn’t very welcoming. Paid a £30 deposit at the beginning of my stay which i have never had before. Happily paid - after prompting the receptionist to explain why as she just asked if i had a bank card (a bit rude) However only recieved a partial refund - not sure what the deduction was for as nothing was damaged or not charged was made to the room. Wouldn’t stay again

Keep the £30 deposit very quiet from you until you check in. The Hotel looked brilliant from the outside with landscaped grounds and the staff were friendly inside. Our room was very dirty and not in the best of conditions for a premium type Hotel. Stains on the walls, TV remote not working, cracked ceilings, cobwebs in corners, dead bugs on windowsill, carpet marked, very dusty lampshade etc. Not impressed really, quite disappointed. Breakfast was incredible, however, and the WiFi was fast.

I arrived late, and I had already paid in full in advance, however I was asked to pay a deposit when I arrived at the reception, I was shocked, I've never had to do that before, I won't stay at any Holiday Inn ever again.

Nice friendly welcome, helpful staff, clean room, very good breakfast, very close to the A1 motorway and the room was very quite. Some areas in the room needed repainting or touching up, but overall very good value for money.

Pleasant staff at check in. Nice clean room. Comfortable king size bed, just what we needed after long drive. Great shower. Ideal place to stop, half way between our home and my son and family.

The room was lovely and clean but the bed was hard and the pillows were even harder the television had no service the staff were lovely

IHG typically are good hotels, this is no exception. Very pleased with the room, location and service. Thank you

Quick overnight stop while away working...Clean, friendly staff, well maintained, plenty of parking (van and trailer)..decent food..

Service was excellent, every member of staff smiling and welcoming. I stay in hotels regularly for work and would definitely stay here again, in terms of service definitely one of the best.
