Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here… Yes it is old fashioned but that added to the charm, there was even a bath, very welcome after a few days walking! Very good value, lovely views and instant access on to the moors, very welcoming staff, delicious food, and best of all… superb beer! All in all a delightful experience of staying at at proper traditional English inn

Warm welcome from friendly staff, bedroom was spacious, clean and well equipped. Limited choice of breakfast, but it was freshly prepared, hot and delicious.

Excellent breakfast, good choice of evening meals, friendly staff and a more than adequate room with hillside view. Enjoyed my stay here.

A lovely old fashioned, traditional country in. That offered simple accommodation in the best sense of the word: a warm welcome, hearty pub food (including the well presented inclusive full English breakfast), real ale and a warm, well decorated room that included all the essentials. Good mobile signal on Vodafone too. Ideal for an overnight stay - or longer if you’d like to visit nearby Tavistock or walk on Dartmoor, with paths accessible from the pub car park.

We stayed for one night. Lovely room helpful staff Breakfast was absolutely fabulous. There was amassive car park too. Would highly recommend.

Overall good. Room a little small

The room first given to us was tiny, the smallest in the hotel and not the one I reserved. It was an atic space on the hottest day of the year. As soon as I mentioned that there wasn't enough room bed length (husband 6'4") and room size(slopped beamed ceilings), they moved us to the only other empty room, which was fine. Not sure why we were given tiny one in the first place. Breakfast was fab. Staff were lovely. Fixtures and fittings very dated (1970/80).

Nice people but the place requires a real freshen up. Sadly the room didn’t smell fantastically fresh which meant the window needed to be open all night and with the passing traffic noise it was very difficult to sleep. The room felt very 70’s but sadly not in a good way

Lovely place to stay, very friendly, reasonably priced. Breakfast was great.

Really nice place - great fire, excellent food and beer. Room was just what I needed (and they surprised me with an upgrade). Staff were lovely. 12 hours solid sleep - couldn't have asked for more. Able to pre-order breakfast if wanted enabled me to have a lie in.

Overnight stay-had dinner/bed and breakfast.

The food ( dinner and breakfast) was beautifully cooked. The homely atmosphere was relaxing and friendly. The staff helpful and the room had everything you need and was clean and tidy. The pub also smile English and I appreciated that it retained that . Nice to have free parking outside the door.

Room was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable but both bunks on the bunk bed squeaked a lot when used.

We had a really good stay , lovely walk up in the hills . Staff were really helpful and friendly, it was nice to take the dog with us to stay too . Food was lovely and yummy to shame we missed breakfast as we had to leave early ☹️. Well recommended and we’re definitely coming back with my daughter in a few months 😊

Staff were very welcoming and helpful, a nice stay and hoping to go back again next time I'm working in the area. Quality of Wifi was pretty bad unfortunately.. but that was the only opportunity for improvement i thought.. everything else was spot on. Oh.. the steak pie was delicious.. I had it 3 times.. More pastry would make it perfect in my eyes.
