Here’s a polished Expedia review you can post: I had an excellent stay at this hotel and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast. The staff were outstanding—friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful throughout my stay. As an American who does not speak Italian fluently, I especially appreciated how well the staff spoke English. Communication was effortless, and they went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning views and a great atmosphere. My room was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. Check-in was quick and seamless, making the arrival experience stress-free. The location is truly elite—close to restaurants, shopping, attractions, and everything you need, making it easy to explore the area without hassle. One of the highlights was the rooftop restaurant. The views were absolutely incredible, and the drinks were expertly made. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery after a day of sightseeing. The only downside during my stay was that the gym was not open or available. As someone who enjoys working out while traveling, that was disappointing. Having access to a fitness center is always a plus for me, so I would love to see that available in the future. Overall, this was a fantastic experience. Between the amazing staff, beautiful property, spotless rooms, prime location, and rooftop dining, I would gladly stay here again.

We lived our stay here the staff were amazing! Mário, Guiseippi and Serena bent over backwards to make us feel welcome and get us everything we needed. After hiking Vesuvius they got us lots of ice for our sore joints. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom had a lovely tub and bidet. The location is great especially for nice walks by the water in the evening. We will definitely stay here again!

Not worth $500 a night.

We loved the balcony view of the strand from our mini suite on the third floor. The hotel is Convenient to many restaurants.

Excelsior Hotel's historic past and fabulous corner location makes it a wonderful place to enjoy the heart of Naples. The rooms are beautifully renovated, some with a tiny balcony overlooking the bay of Naples, are lovely. The hotel's roof-top bar has my favorite panoramic view of Vesuvius, Sorrento and Capri. A wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing moment after a day of touring.

Very poor service in restaurant, meat was overcooked. However the worst was the lack of service even factoring in Italian culture that a meal is to be enjoyed not rushed. Their service just seemed oblivious to their responsibilities.

This is an elegant, old-world hotel and is beautifully maintained. The staff were very gracious and helpful. The room was large with high ceilings, an elegant bathroom and a small balcony opening out to the bay. There was a hot water kettle with packs of coffee and a mini-fridge. The rooftop bar/restaurant was a lovely spot for a drink at sunset. The waterfront area directly in front of the hotel is great for walking, and is being refinished very attractively with gray paving stones. It is a 10-12 minute walk along the waterfront to Molo Beverello port for ferries to Capri, Amalfi, etc.

Very beautiful property. There are many options nearby. The rooftop restaurant is a bit stuffy and formal, but very accommodating. It is a nice sanctuary from the busy feel of Naples.

We stayed in a beautiful junior suite for 4 nights. Situated right on the bay, great area for walking and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again! Rooftop bar and restaurant- excellent

Very beautiful hotel in a great location. We had a suite which was outstanding .

The property exists as a hotel since 1908 and the management deserves credit for the upkeep and maintenance which is immaculate.Management were very willing to change my room to a sea view room.Restaurant at the roof top is calm and serene.I think slightly overpriced for the amenities.Though there was tea and coffee maker but there was no milk. Somehow the room was uncomfortable and felt cold and uncomfortably. Staff were very courteous and helpful

Beautiful hotel, great views, lovely room and bathroom. Great breakfast, kind staff. Only negatives- bed mattress was too soft/old and in the entrance there is no ramp for luggage, you must go up some stairs.
