Great location, staff super polite and helpful......room dated but clean and comfortable

This hotel is in the BEST location for exploring Venice. Just 3 minutes away from the ferry terminals in the south, less than 10 minute walk to St. Mark's square, dining and bars right outside the doors, amazing!! As a solo female traveller, I felt super safe in this hotel. The only thing is that the bed was so small and super uncomfortable. The pillows are flat and they only provide 2. The ceiling in the tub/shower was low (I'm only 5' 3") and there was always a sewage-y smell coming from the bathroom pipes. There was also no refrigerator in the room. However, the AC works super well, there is an elevator for accessing the upper floors and the front desk staff was sooo helpful and sweet. Definitely a good value for the location alone!

This Hotel is situated perfectly for enjoying Venice. It is just a short walk from the Grande Canal. The manager Gabriel was very helpful and the room with a view of San Zaccharia church was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast at 12EU was a great bargain. Everything you could expect in Italy and more. The restaurant (Roberto) across the street is excellent as well. Book it directly with the hotel for the best price.

In the crowded madness of Venice, a family and romantic old fashioned place , cozy, warm, charming , close to all but not too close,run by Diego and Gabriel ,who love what they do, give it all -kindness and accomodate all your needs. Rooms are small but clean, decorated in Venetian style , breakfast is excellent and variety of food given, no street noise !

We had a lovely stay at the Fontana Hotel, location was perfect close to St Marks Square the grand canal. The staff at the Fontana where excellent and very helpful, Diago thank you for all the info amazing local knowledge. Thank you all.

Everyone at this property is super amazing. The staff is fantastic. I had an issue with my flight and they were able to help me contact the water taxis. They were just really genuine people. It’s in an amazing location. Super walkable to the water taxis, but also to the main squares. The rooms are definitely outdated, but they are very clean. I didn’t care that much as I was only staying for two days and I don’t need significant amenities. I think if you’re someone that’s used to having a very updated modern room this might not be the property for you But like I said, it was perfect for what I needed it. My only minor con is that there was a weird smell to my room. I think it may be the water source how it sometimes gives a murky smell. It does not smell like mold. But there’s also a little air freshener that may be what is causing the scent. I am just super sensitive to smells, which is why for me it’s the only small con but other than that it was great. I would definitely recommend it especially for the amazing staff and the location.

There are 2 restaurants across the street from the hotel. Patrons can be loud when drinking at night so be aware of this. Room 2 urgently needs one chair reupholstered and is not useable. Room was very clean and the hot shower was good. Staff are very friendly and recommended Nevodi restaurant (15 minutes walk from hotel) for dinner. The food was very good but if you sit outdoors, be sure to use bug spray since the mosquitoes will bite. I recommend this small hotel with its close location to the center of town! 👍👍

Diego was amazing and offered lots of brilliant recommendations. Arthur also got to play football with a lovely gentleman who we met a couple of times in reception. It would have been great to have a little fridge in the room for Arthur’s milk however all staff were helpful in letting us keep the milk in the bar fridge !

The staff really are the best part of staying at Hotel Fontana. Friendly, welcoming and happy to engage and recommend their favourite spots. Couldnt be happier with our stay everything you want walkable distance.

The hotel is in a great spot, and the room was clean, A/C worked great. Staff was kind and friendly! Our room did not have a refrigerator, which would have been nice. Also, there was a strong perfume smell on most fabrics which made it difficult to sleep on the first night. Finally, there are multiple bars at street level such kept us up a couple of nights. Though, if you plan on being out late, that won’t be an issue. Overall, glad we stayed here

Great location for exploring the wonderful Venice and so convenient for getting from and to the water taxi’s. Plus a nice little bar next door! Staff at the hotel very friendly and helpful. Not a modern hotel but nice, it was clean and has character, I found the beds to be comfy. I would recommend this hotel.
