Good bed, spacious room but bathroom was very small. The view was fabulous. Breakfast buffet was adequate except when they ran out of black tea (in Britain!)

It could have been better. I know it was going through a period of renovation but wallpaper falling off the wall… breakfast wasn’t the best but ok…. Like I say, could have been better for the money I paid for this be nights stay.

Very nice hotel. Good price, a nice English breakfast available in the morning, and a yummy restaurant off the lobby. Convenient bus stop to downtown is located within 50 yards of the hotel front door.

Lovely hotel in a nice area. Ideal for a short break, pubs in walking distance and close enough for events at Murrayfield. Comfy beds with good facilities, would definitely stay again.

Staying on the 3rd floor really means going up 5-6 flights of stairs from bus stop. It’s an opening in the bushes with a 20 feet of stairs. No lift makes this property difficult to navigate with luggage. The upper floors were very hot from sun. Poor ventilation and lack of cooling except opening windows approximately 2 inches. It is very unique property but these drawbacks need to be considered.

Hotel would have been amazing if it was not for the broken hot water for 2 days and the low water pressure.. And no other availability as we were told it was full.. And no compensation...

Nestled atop a hill overlooking the historic city of Edinburgh and its iconic castle, the Braid Hills Hotel offers a truly delightful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were met with a friendly welcome, setting the tone for our two-night stay at this beautiful establishment with its charming, old-world feel. Our room was impressively spacious, comfortably furnished with a sofa, chair and a well-maintained en-suite bathroom. It was spotlessly clean and tidy, providing a lovely base for our Edinburgh exploration. We chose to dine at the hotel on our first evening and were not disappointed. The food was nicely cooked and served with excellent service, making for a very enjoyable meal. The bar was also a pleasant surprise, being nicely stocked with a good selection of drinks. Breakfast each morning was nice, with a good buffet spread. Any items that ran low were quickly replenished, ensuring a continuous and satisfying start to our day. The hotel's location is also incredibly convenient for exploring the city. Situated on a bus route, we found the journey into the city center to be an easy and pleasant 30-minute ride. Overall, we would highly recommend the Braid Hills Hotel. Its stunning views, friendly atmosphere, comfortable accommodations, and excellent service make it a perfect choice for a visit to Edinburgh. We would most definitely choose to stay here again on our return to the city.

I liked the old feel and the bar and restaurant. I don’t recommend the third floor because it was very hot and we had to keep the windows open and a seagul came in and pooped on our bed

The staff are wonderful and helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel is in serious need of repairs. Paint peeling in the bathroom, carpets torn and coming apart in places to name a few.

Have stayed in this hotel several times, the last occasion being before Covid. I found the place quite shabby with worn carpets and in need of a lick of paint. In contrast to previous visits only a handful of cars in the carpark hinted that business was not good though it picked up a little in the evenings with the arrival of a coach tour. Staff were, however, friendly and welcoming. Very disappointed at the reduction in standards.

Crazy business set up. the catering and bar are run by a separate business to the hotel. So arriving back at 11.15pm the bar was closed and the night porter couldn't help as its separate to the hotel, even though it in the hotel. Went for breakfast which we had not pre-booked and before being able to start you had to pay. I had left my cards upstairs so as them to stick it on the bill, again its a separate entity they cant do that. So a business set up with no thought to what customers might need. Terrible, and there is no lift !! All this for £200 per night!!!!!

Estadía muy grata, personal amable Sugerimos perfeccionar el traslado de maletas a las habitaciones,ya que el no tener ascensor exige al pasajero un esfuerzo físico importante

This hotel is truly a gem and we will definitely come back again. The location is fantastic, public bus in walking distance and so are many other things. The hotel, though old, has such a amazing charm, which made it 100% worth it. The staff must kind and helpful and always ready to be of assistance. We had an amazing time. Thank you

It's a nice hotel, a little shabby and down-at-heel in places (carpets with black tape over the worn areas). The member of staff who greeted us on arrival was not very friendly or welcoming and gave us a room key that wasn't activated. The worst thing was how hot the room was. There is no aircon and it was hard to sleep, you start sweating as soon as you get out of the shower, etc. It's not cheap so I'd expect aircon in a place like this. The window only opened a crack and didn't help much. Well served by buses around the city. Didn't have breakfast there so can't comment. Cleaner knocked at 8.20am when we were still in bed! Overall somewhat disappointing for the money.
