Beautiful interior. Comfortable bed. Coffee access all day and night. Lobby comfortable and a good place to hang out if needed. Help staff, quite helpful. Every thing was emasculate. Cleaning person very kind and helpful.

Nice lobby, quiet, good location. Electronic key access was confusing and hard to get help. Bathroom was dated and needed fixtures updated.

Property did not disclose that bathroom was external to the room. OpenKey did not work. Loud at all hours. Poor linens

I wasn't able to download the key app onto my phone. Thank goodness Maria, the housekeeper, was still there and gave me an actual key to my room. Room was quiet and clean except for the MILDEW-COVERED TUB MAT. Worst of all was the BROKEN SHOWER/TUB KNOB, so I could not use the shower. I think a partial refund is in order.

Our travel was business and it was my first experience staying in a keyless Inn in the US. Everything went very well, and communication by text messaging was not a problem at all. Any questions I had were responded to immediately. The room was small, and my only thought was wishing there was a chair to sit on in there. The lounge common area provided that space and the coffee/tea counter was clean, offering everything needed. The bonus of our stay was the location! It is out of the bustle of the downtown area, easy pick up by Uber, and walking distance to outstanding eateries in Little Italy or Chinatown. HUGE!

Nice room, lobby/lounge is so comfortable and inviting. Coffee bar with real half and half! Location is ridiculously good. Best place I’ve stayed in a long time, reasonably priced, beautiful building, tastefully decorated room with marble floors and walls in the spacious bathroom and easy access with no hassles at all! Great experience in every aspect.5 stars

Checking in was a hassle. Only phone access that was querky at best to open the doors. Parking and unloading was difficult and expensive.

Location is ideal for a Northbeach stay. Staff is friendly and responsive. Very old building and common areas are kept nicely. As one would expect for a 3 star. Room number 7 does need a little freshen up. The carpet is very old and stained and I imagine is the reason for the odor in the room. The bay window is lovely but the cushions need to be recovered. Keep it simple. Don’t think you need the bolsters in that area. Just the seat cushions.

Location was great for food options and walkability. Didn't like that there was no staff on site.

This place is very cute and comfortable and in a wonderful location right in the middle of North Beach and all its great shops and Italian bakeries, cafes, and restaurants. The room was small but comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. There is no front desk service but when I had some questions they were quick to respond to email, text, and phone call. I would definitely stay here again!

At first I was unsure but after downloading App Onekey everything was good Bit a noise hallway and street . I like the location definitely will come back Location so close to almost everything

Convenient location

My room was a square box with no bathroom or closet. There is no staff onsite. Stay elsewhere.

Great location, very clean and comfortable. Wish there was a human on site, but all worked out well.

The Washington Square Inn is in a great location for both the immediate North Beach neighborhood, and getting around San Francisco. It's an unattended property, so there is really no "staff or service" to mention. It's also basically an older building, but in decent shape. My wife and I feel like it's one of the nicest bargain stays in SF.
