When you pay for a 4 star hotel you expect good service and accommodation. Tanka Resort did not provide this. After check-in it took us 45 mins to find our room. There's no signage around what is a huge resort. Our room was old and depressing, bathroom small. Overall I would describe the rooms as dark and claustrophobic and there is no outdoor seating area - there were trees hanging over the small balcony so we had no view. Room didn't have the basic things - kettle, cups, minibar, slippers. Breakfast was a cafeteria like buffet and frantic. Staff barely spoke any English and the majority of staff were not helpful. The woman at Nettuno beach bar told us they close at 6 so we went back same day and it was closed at 5.25.We had to ask her 3 times as she was dismissive and kept saying the bar is only for hotel guests in which we replied we were.Two staff stood out (older balding man in luggage drop off area) he tried so hard to get us a taxi and offered us shelter when it was raining and another lovely man at swimming pool. There's nothing to do in evenings despite advertising various entertainment options. I am putting this down to it being early October.
Potentially it has the makings of a great resort as facilities are fantastic and location/beach cannot be beaten but we felt it wasn't a hotel for international travellers.
