The room was not worth the £138 per night. Barely enough room to swing a cat and it did not include breakfast. Was woken at 04:00 and 04:30 by a bin lorry emptying the glass bin.

Amazing room with friendly helpful staff

My husband and I booked a 1 night stay as we were watching a comedian at O2 Apollo. It was a very direct, simple 20min walk to the venue. Being right on the canal was a beautiful setting. We stayed on a Thursday eve and it was busy, but the noise was not heard in our room, which was fab! Bed was so comfortable. A very compact room, but had everything we needed (we stayed in a cozy kingsize). The welcome drink of prosecco was a great touch too. Loved the minibar option too (we did not purchase, but appreciated the option nonetheless).

Amazing room, very clean and spacious. Amazing service. Would recommend and would stay here again when in Manchester.

Lovely hotel with a very comfortable bed and pillows, only issue was with the electric windows in room, only two of them worked so was very warm a stuffy. There is heating/air conditioning but doesn’t let you go below 17 degrees so wasn’t working too well with it being a hot day. Was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was with it being on such a busy street on a Saturday night. Would definitely stay again with it being in such a great location and easy cheep parking in the area as well.

Lovely hotel, absolutely brilliant location. We received a lovely welcome and told about the room. The room itself was fabulous, well decorated and a pleasant place to spend time. The TV was huge, and the bed was extremely comfortable. well stocked mini bar, an Illy Nespresso style machine and great views made the stay even better. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend Velvet to anyone looking for a great hotel within walking distance of the bets bits of the city.

I have stayed here many times for convenience for work and celebrations with my husband and friends. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Definitely will be coming back. I had a up expected upgrade which was so nice to receive.

Experience was sub-standard. Great room, windows on roof dirty, very dusty room. For the best room in the hotel, the water did not work in the bath, after telling reception, we were moved to a room where the lights didn’t work upstairs. For a premium room of premium price, experience was poor. Very comfortable bed & a pleasant night of sleep. Lovely bathroom, very very spacious. Wouldn’t book the deluxe balcony suite again, but maybe the signature suite to try.

Nice place and easy to get around Manchester. Only thing was that could hear people next door in another room very loud.

Lovely clean and tastefully designed room. Bed was lovely and comfy. Very quiet room.

The property manager was pretty unreasonable and unresponsive. I had to cancel my trip last minute due to a family emergency and they refused to answer me until two days later about a cancellation and then didn't even partially refund me, they charged me for the entirety of the stay, even though I never set foot in the hotel. I feel a hotel should accommodate in cases of emergencies, at least give partial refunds.
