Very pleasant stay, on slight issue was parking.

Visiting york for army veterans race day at york racecourse, stayed at Ashbourne house for 2 nights. A* for everything from receiving the keys to our room to handing back on checkout. Immaculately clean, spacious room, friendly and a breakfast of kings. Thank you very much for an amazing weekend.

On entering the room, everything look ok, but on closer inspection things seemed a miss or that’s what we thought, no wardrobe just a few hangers on a small pole above the fridge unable hang my dresses not enough hangers for 2 people, water mark on ceiling, one kitkat ? Sweets on stairs not enough, if there are fridges in rooms why don’t you put fresh milk instead of UHT milk in plastic ? Kettle needs descaling I would have like a flat sheet instead of thick duvet, due to extreme hot weather, room was small. When I saw king size room I was expecting a larger room. We never had breakfast we went to a lovely independent cafe Would we return unfortunately no This may seem picky but at the price we expected more

I stayed only a few nights and had wonderful experience. Place is relatively easy to find - this relaxing walk through the green park was a big joyful bonus. Very clean room, comfy bed, good shower. Attention to detail in any aspect. So, it was a real pleasure to return to my room after spending a day in a busy town. Thank you Fiona and Ricardo for making my stay so special. I won't hesitate to rebook again.

Excellent place to stay with good parking and easy walk into York. Fiona made us feel welcome and the breakfast was perfect.

Absolutely fantastic staff, clean, friendly, near the city, would definitely staff again.

The hotel was very lovely, stylish and clean, and felt cozy. Bed was comfy and the room kept warm in the evening. There’s extra amenities near the rooms if you run out of anything. There is parking on the drive which is very handy if you’re travelling by car. The location is great, and the riverside walk to reach the city was a great way to start the mornings. We didn’t opt for breakfast but the selection looked good. Fiona was a great host and incredibly helpful. I would recommend Ashbourne House! Will stay here again.

Second stay at Ashbourne House. Always very polite staff and the rooms are beautiful.

For the price, can't really argue too much. Free car parking for a trip into York city centre (walkable). We were informed of what needed to know regarding access and timings etc. Not the hosts fault but other inconsiderate guests were noisy until gone 2am. Not much sound proofing between rooms. Pillows a bit too plump and fluffy for us, but each to your own on that one. Overall, did the job for one night.

Wonderful one-night stay at Ashbourne House. The room was very spacious, well decorated and absolutely spotless. Great attention to detail - there was even a supply of cotton buds and a small sewing kit! Really conveniently located to get to York centre, and the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in! Will 100% stay here again when visiting York.

Very hospitable welcome. Room was replenished everyday - beds made, rubbish cleared, tea tray restocked. Comfortable place to stay.

Very warm & friendly venue. Cleanliness & service all excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend and I hope to make a return visit.
