Our first trip to Marrakesh just left me wanting more. What an incredible and friendly place. A different world. La Port Rouge was amazing. Lovely rooms and decor. Helpful staff and delicious breakfast.

A lovely building. The room was great. We didn’t use the rooftop facilities, but checked them out and they looked good. The courtyard area was lovely, such a great place to come back to after a busy day. Staff were great too. Thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

The Riad La Porte Rouge was a fantastic hotel to stay at. Full of charm and personality. The owner and his staff practically bent over backwards to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. I found the room to be clean and a great size for me, my wife and son. Due to the time of year we visited, the room was particularly cold at night. The air conditioning unit didn't help much but the Riad was kind enough to lend us their portable heater which helped to take the edge off a bit. The water in the shower was also a bit temperamental and I ended up with a luke warm or colder than I'd like shower on one or two occassions. Really not a deal breaker though. The location was a very straightforward walk to the centre, it took about 30 - 35 minutes and was safe and pleasant so long as you watch out for motorbikes. Overall, my family and I very much enjoyed staying at this Riad and would recommend it.

Excellent service. Big rooms Did not have card facilities when I had to pay for services after querying items in the bill. I had to set off in the dark in search of a cash point which was very stressful as I didn’t feel safe. 6 euros for a pot of mint tea is very steep when you can have full menus for that same price outside the property. Despite advertising a pool it was not in use with tables and a flower pot clearly blocking access. The advertised jacuzzi was neither hot or fully functioning (only 3 spouts worked) and parts of it were sharp to the touch cutting the skin when sitting on the tiles. Nearly 30 minutes walk to the Medina but close to Badi Palace and Saadien Tombs.

The property itself is amazing. An authentic Moroccan experience. Hospitality exceeded expectations. The only thing of concern was to find the property. My husband and I had our own car. Navigation brought us in the proximity of the property. But without the help of a local we would not have been able to find it. We had to park our car on the street( we were told it was safe). Then we had to walk with our luggage approximately 500 m through narrow passages to our hotel. This was an experience of its own , but I suggest that the property places some signs to be easily found. Bazaar around the property was noisy and dirty. Locals are friendly and helpful.

A very friendly and helpful staff. Property is charming, quiet and comfortable, if a bit far from most attractions, such as Djama El Fna, a 20 min. walk away, half on noisy, traffic-filled streets. But easy enough to get a taxi to and fro. Would stay there again.

I loved everything about this Riad, it’s located near the Jma el fnaa, the souk, and the palace so it’s a beautiful location. The inside of this riad is magical, it’s super clean and the colours are beautiful. Our room was cleaned every day and the place was spotless. We woke up to a breakfast of Moroccan pancakes and jams, as well as coffee or tea. Loved it all! Wish we stayed longer!

Nice hotel, pretty close to the medina, just a little tricky to find, but nice people and place to have a break from the craziness...

This place is over priced, there are similar hotels (riads) at 1/3 price in the area. The service is very basic. Breakfast is poor (there is no egg, cheese, olives nor any meat products).

Upon arrival the riad was disappointing. Cat was lounging in the waiting area on couch. I insisted on another room because the first was very inhospitable "cold &damp". I ask for another room and was granted a room up two flights of stairs. The second room was warmer but very little. For the price that each night cost I felt it was not worth a third of what was charged. I have no complaint about the food or dinners prepared, but helper name Mustafa was a very shady character. He talked about discounts on drinks and dinner but when I had paid for dinner for three nights at the beginning of my stay I was led to believe that all charges had been paid. But on the last night I was told I owed another 100 or more dollars by being charged for seltzer water which I was offered. He never said anthing about what it cost at the time I said I would have some with my dinner. The next night he just brought it to the table. Our Moroccan guide said Riad Le Porte Rogue was not worth the price that it charged and he wouldn't advise anyone to stay at it for 109 dollars a night and I agreed after staying there. After I question Mr. Mustafa about the charges he got very angry that night and the next morning he would not speak to us. He was very unprofessional and was not an accomodating person. I would not advise anyone to stay there and I know there are better and more pleasing Riads in Morocco.I will never spend money on this type of Riad again. IT WAS NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Excellent management and staff. The Riad feels like a small comfortable home on the outskirts of the medina with great chefs!

A gem of a place to stay in! Solo-female traveler here and I couldn't have found a better spot to stay in Marrakech. The staff in this Riad are really welcoming, kind, and helpful people. You can book many excursions with the hotel, hammams, and have amazing dinners! Mustafa will help you know the real prices, so please don't rush in buying anything! I felt at home in La Porte Rouge, the neighborhood is safe day and night and you are close to the Kings Palace! A good 15 min walk to the Medina. If I ever return, it will be here! I couldn't recommend this place more than enough.
