As a regular guest of the Hotel, I am a bit disappointed. Over the many years, of my stay in the Rooland I noticed that the quality has fallen dramatically. The rooms are old, and dusty with no AC, no refrigerator, or at least a hot water heater for tea or coffee. The hotel would do with a renovation if you want to stay a 4 star, that you state you are. But in reality, 2-3 stars at most. The cleaning and the reception staff are nice and friendly, but that is not the case with your waiters in the bar. The man has no sense of how to communicate with the guests. The former lineup was much nicer. I might not be coming back for that price.

Booking was last minute to avoid covid curfew issue. Arrived at hotel at 8pm. Receptionist explained that the kitchen was closed (even though there were still 3 people working in the kitchen) and it's too late to order out due to the curfew. I was shocked that they couldn't arrange even the smallest thing to eat or drink. I was given a room with the view of a roof. Everything was dated. There was no mini bar or hot water kettle. The cold water from the faucet was warm. This is not a four star hotel. The room had a strong smell of air freshener. This is never a good sign. After a few hours. The bathroom smelled strongly of cigarettes. At 4.30am i was woken by two cats fighting on the roof. As if they were fighting to their death. It was then that I smelled the strong oder of cat piss. It was probably there before. But the sir freshener covered it up. As others have said... the place has seen better days. It should have 2 stars with a max price of €35 per night.

Kind of outdated atmosphere but the coffee was good. Perfect for elderly people maybe
