What a darling place! Located among apple trees with walking trails headed through the woods the owners have thought of a dozen ways to make your stay perfect. Lights in the back with hammocks for your comfort, a firepit, swings and soccer for the kids. The room was cozy and warm. Cesis was wonderful, but Karlamuiza makes you want to just stay and be in the beautiful countryside of the hotel.

It’s away from the main building (700 m walk along the road, but there’s a shortcut) in a beautiful area. We enjoyed our stay, except for the couch. When we both sat on it, it automatically turned into a pull-out bed. Worked well when only one person sat on it. There’s no shower, but a tub with a handheld shower head. The tub itself was very comfortable.

We had the luck of staying the weekend when a nearby town, Cesis, was celebrating its 819th birthday. We went to the festival and had a lot of fun. This inn is conveniently located on a trip from Tallin, Estonia to Riga, Latvia.

We had an amazing stay at Karlamuiza, our room was spacious and had very nice views, the bed was very comfortable. The surrounding property is gorgeous. The staff and hosts were friendly and incredibly helpful and accommodating. The dinner was amazing, not to be missed. It might seem pricey but we discovered that it was well worth it, Baiba is an amazing chef, she uses local fresh ingredients in a very creative way. We did the Sauna Ritual offered through the hotel, it was an incredible experience that was nothing like anything we’ve ever done. It opens the senses and connects one to nature and felt like we were experiencing an integral part of ancient Latvian culture. It was rainy that day so it was perfect to have the opportunity to slow down and relax. Overall I highly recommend Karlmuiza as not only a nice place to stay but a wonderful experience.

A lovely find. A beautiful property in a peaceful location. The accommodation was spacious and we appreciated the washing machine. Breakfast was extra but with plenty of choice.

A lovely place with friendly service. I think we had the smallest room but it was still large, with a kitchenette, including a fridge and stove. We had a lovely breakfast on the terrace with coffee and tea provided by the host (we had our own breakfast with us).

The hotel is located in a beautiful country setting, the food is fantastic and they really make you feel at home! It was a lovely way to experience rural Latvia!

Wonderful family run establishment. Friendly and had a great home made dinner outside by the apple orchard made by the owners. Everything was local and fresh from there garden. Nice !!!

What a spectular and beautiful setting! The family operating the hotel were wonderful and extremely helpful. We highly recommend the Karlamuiza and will certainly stay again when we return to Latvia.

Incredible service, amazing cuisine. The hotel is in the middle of nature, calm and resting. I would just add more light in the room and modernize the bathroom. Otherwise, we loved it there.

We stayed for two nights at the Elisabeth room - loved waking up to storks flying and birds singing in the yet unblown apple trees was fantastic, nevermind the rain :) The service was friendly and the food was good! Best carrot cake I had ever had and my partner loved the freshly caught trouts! Comfort was good, we both would have preferred a harder bed and softer chairs by the table, but these things are personal preferences, not criticism. Everything was clean and it was a very pleasant stay overall. We would return there and if you are thinking of walking the nature trails, I would not know a better location to start off from and a better room and atmosphere to wish for! We most certainly do recommend this place!

Beautiful summer manor of baron Zeverts once, now a perfect hideaway,especially in Covid era. Spacious, beautifully restored, nice surroundings, near to all avid zemes attractions - Cesis, Araisi, Gauja National park, Ligatne, Zvartas iezis,Super three choices for breakfast, served to you room, coffee machine in your room, you can order 3 course meal of superior quality just for 20 eur a person. This was our second stay here and I really appreciate high standards of service, friendly staff. Thank you for giving us Home away from Home.

Beautiful countryside manor house.Very clean.Exceptional service, polite and helpful staff.Plentyful three choices of breakfast. Good qyslity lunch and dinners avsilabke.Close to Gaija national park, Araisi medeaval wooden park-museum, Cesis. Very much tecommended.

We had a lovely stay in this family hotel. The location is nice, in a remote place in the national park so you definitely need a car to reach it although we were told in the summer you can reach Cesis in two hours. The ladies running the hotel were really friendly and even let us use the sauna at 10.30 pm because we spent the evening in Cesis. Overall, I really recommend the hotel and wouldn't definitely return there if ever in Latvia again.

It was a short drive from the Cesis Castle. The room is beautifully decorated, clean, tidy and spacious. There's a small kitchen where you can have light meal arranged by yourself. There's also a small washing machine which is good for small scale laundry. The hotel is located the national park which is a bit rural, so we have pre-booked dinner with the hotel. There's a small pond in front of the hotel and the environment is nice and beautiful. We took a short walk around the field and nearby the hotel for pictures. The night we arrived was my wife's birthday and we had the dinner at the hotel. The host was so nice to have prepared a candle in the mousse cake for our celebration. Will certainly recommend it.

Just amazing place to stay with wonderful hospitality!! Would go back again and defiantly recommend eating dinner there as well as it was perfect!!

Nice place. Not easy to get there. There is no sheets, only blanket. It gets cold at night and there is no extra blanket.
