Great hotel Great staff Excellent food

Room was clean and tidy, staff are amazing very helpful and couldn't do enough to make your stay enjoyable highly recommend

Overall it was an excellent experience. Fantastic front desk staff. Top notch! First hotel in Belgium (it was our fourth a this trip) with a small refrigerator in the room. Free parking is always a huge plus in my book. A couple of notes, though. If you are going to change €24 for breakfast, the food on the buffet line needs to be hotter than lukewarm. (Although the freshly prepared omelet was hot.) And the shampoo/body wash dispenser in the shower was broken and/or empty. Dinner at Restaurant was much more reasonable than breakfast and delicious.

An interesting hotel with some very beautiful elements (brick ceilings, restaurant and bar area), next to other very average spaces, such as the halls leading to the room (more motley looking). The actual bedroom was ok. Clean and efficient. But not spectacular. We ended up sleeping with the window open because we couldn’t get the air conditioning to work.

Great stay

Nice modern rooms with comfortable appointments. The hotel more or less revolves around the restaurant which is very good. The staff were top notch.

The hotel exceeded expectations in every way: lovely large rooms, well trained and friendly staff, great restaurant, great location, and best of all, an incredible serve-yourself breakfast set up. I recommend this hotel very highly.

Unfortunately the hot water supply failed in the lodge on our first morning. The hotel moved us to a room in the main hotel. Much nicer but we could have done without the hassle to repack and move before breakfast.

Staff were so nice Hotel is a bit old especially the room

Looks good on the surface until you sleep in a bed so narrow you will fall of it if you roll while you sleep. Very noisy with a bar open until late and shouty clients. Cleaning staff stole something pricey enough from my bad but not used often enough for me to notice until I had checked out (clever!). Avoid this hotel.

Friendly staff..great service..wonderful food.

I have stayed at the Van der Valk a few times and have always enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately on this occasion I was extremely disappointed; a flushing toilet & hot breakfast are minimum requirements.

Clean,new and big

Modern building behind older facade. Good parking. Steps up to hotel entrance. Excellent clean and spacious bedroom. Seemed short of staff, so service slow. Some young staff seemed under-trained, and rather bored by their work. Too much loud music in dining room.

Parking is convenient, and the room is clean and quiet. And the staffs were polite and kind.

Restaurant is good, worth a try!

Hotel is in a great location with plenty of parking Staff very helpful and rooms clean and comfortable. Good restaurant on site Train station 20 mins walk away for links to airport and Brussels Will definitely use again when in area

The hotel looks great for the money paid. Near the Waterloo battlefield and near restaurants. Room is larger than typical European rooms.

A lovely quiet hotel with an on-site restaurant and outdoor bar. Very comfortable. Near to shopping area and public transport.
