This is a lovely place in a beautiful town. The room was large and well presented. The receptionists were lovely (the lady in the day and guy at night). It’s well located to explore the mountains. Parking nearby.

Residenza Petra was an excellent choice for us. The hotel is warm and inviting, and we were served by two extremely friendly staff members, Enza and Concetta (sorry for incorrect spelling!). Enza in particular was helpful with directions, reservations, and parking information. Breakfast each morning was a delicious informal brunch, including fresh bread, hard sausage, local ricotta and jam, pastries, and a fun contraption for cooking soft boiled eggs. Enza and Concetta made very tasty espresso drinks to order. Our room was basic, but clean and comfortable, with a bathroom in working order, and turn down service every day. No air conditioning, but a fan was available, and open windows kept the air circulating. Electricity to the room is activated by a key card, so when you are away, anything plugged in will not receive power. Be sure to charge devices overnight. Petralia Soprana is a tiny town with beautiful churches and narrow streets. The locals are friendly to tourists, and we enjoyed our meals at Trattoria da Salvatore, and spritzes and snacks at the bar on the main piazza, which has some outdoor seating. We highly recommend Residenza Petra, and would stay there again!

Very nice welcoming receptionists. Comfortable room but needed to use a fan. Breakfast a bit disappointing but egg cooker gets 5*. Beautiful hill village, very natural with good restaurants almost next door.

We were greeted by a friendly welcome and the level of service continued throughout the stay. The hotel staff were helpful throughout and the 24hr concierge was welcomed. We booked the junior suite for one night, a rustic room on the second floor that had been sympathetically modernised with underfloor heating and a new bathroom suite. A mini-bar of refreshments was included. We also had a view of Etna and surrounding mountains out of the window. The room was very clean and the shuttered windows kept the room really dark, great for a lie-in! We drank at the reasonably priced bar, taking these to the higher floors to enjoy the view from comfy sofas. The breakfast was an excellent selection including local produce such as ham and cheese (ricotta!), breads, pastries and cakes, juices and freshly made coffee. Highly recommended if you want a base to explore the surrounding area.

An amazing hotel in a small charming medieval village. Spacious and clean room, good breakfast, helpful English speaking staff. A pizza served at the local pizzeria is to die for!

We came for a family reunion, and the staff at Hotel Residenza Petra was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice, clean and relatively spacious, though the showers were very small. The hotel is located right in the heart of the village, a very short walk to the town square.

Had trouble finding this quaint, ancient mountaintop villiage, but once we did, we were delighted to discover this recently renovated, high quality hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Only problem was only one restaurant in town which was closed. This is not the hotel's fault, but did affect our stay. Ended up getting bread and cheese at little market and eating in our room, which actually was fun. Town was remote, historical, and not ful of other tourists. Views, including of Mt Etna in the distance, are worth the trip.
