The service provided by the staff is really superb. The hotel lobby is very spacious and check-in/check-out was smooth. The room is very clean and comfortable. Gym was huge too. Really enjoyed the stay here.

We had a corner suite - and was quite possibly the nicest room we have ever stayed in. Views of the river were amazing! Breakfast was fantastic, and a really cool bar in the garden!

Four stars would be more accurate for this hotel. Despite several disappointments, however, it's still a good value. The hotel did't seem at all crowded. Yet I was given a room facing a nearby construction site making moderate-level constant pounding noises. I asked for a room change and was given a room on the other side of the hotel, which I believe was an upgrade because it had a great view of the river. It took too long for the room change to be made, and I'm surprised that the upgrade wasn't automatic when the hotel wasn't fully booked and there was construction noise that made working difficult and generally would significantly decrease the quality of a stay. I needed a plug converter and more water in the room. I received both but it was another long weight. This made the check-in process take an hour. A few things in the room like chairs and tables showed damage and wear, but the room was clean. I was looking forward to swimming, and it took two tries for me to have a good experience at the pool. The first time I went in the late afternoon, and found I needed a cap to swim. Still, I walked around and found the shower area unclean and swimming classes going on, and they were loud. I decided to come back later. I returned at 9 pm with my cap and had a better experience. There were still lessons being given but few enough people that I enjoyed the pool. Positives - the river view was excellent and I slept well. I also had a good massage.

Poor WiFi Connectivity and very low or No Aircon flow . Booked the hotel room with breakfast but was asked to pay for breakfast during check in. After much hassle of finding my booking and showing it to them , and they take time to verify with their accounts department , then they decide to include breakfast for me. All the while, they were so insistent that my booking was without breakfast. In the end, they promised a fruit basket to my room but was never delivered. On my last day , I went down to reception to ask about the fruit basket. This time, they reluctantly sent the fruit basket which is essentially 1 apple , 1 orange and 1 apple in a row , on a rickety old wooden tray. This doesn’t look like the standard of a fruit basket from a 5 Stars Intercontinental Hotel! I have photos of this and will share with you all.

The overall experience at this stay is great. But recommend that the concierge services has to be improved. I tried to pass an envelope to my colleague staying at another room. The staff just put the envelope into the drawer, without mark onto record nor require to sign for receipt. This reflects that the security of any items handled via the concierge is in risk.

The hotel itself was great. All of my interactions with the hotel staff were great. My room was clean and had a great view of the river. My room had breakfast included and it was a good thing. There is NOTHING in the area.You are at least a 15 minute walk from the closest metro station. Apart from the two restaurants in the hotel, there were no other food places nearby. Its probably a 15 minute walk to the closest outside dining as well.

Once I walked in, it was a wow for the beautiful lobby and nice decoration at Shanghai Expo, Pudong. The room is spacy and liked the mattresses. There's a big living area, and extra bathroom. Very impressed by the hotel facilities and the friendly staff.

The entire staff were awesome and always courteous and helpful. Through the ordeal of the theft/loss if my US passport, the hotel staff assisted me in every way in making the passport/visa replacement ordeal less stressful.
