Very good hotel. Easy and free parking. Big room and wide breakfast spread. Highly recommended.

Absolutely amazing, stunning hotel. Amazing rooms, amazing staff. Breakfast and the restaurant were beyond amazing. Access to hot pool, sauna, and gym were incredible. I wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Really well renovated hotel. The included breakfast was amazing and fresh. Lots of parking available on site. Hot tub on site was nice as well.

The front desk clerks were both quite rude. We didn't like the separation of hotel rooms in different buildings.

Sat in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Vik the hotel was a perfect base for a couple of days of exploring. Our rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast and dinner were of a very high standard. The bonus of access to the hot tub and sauna topped off our visit. We would highly recommend.

Hotel is made up of several stand alone buildings. The one we stayed at was older but rooms were fine - no issues

The Katla hotel was superb - neat, clean, courteous, professional waitstaff and front desk. Hallway lights were on a timer to conserve energy and there were recycle bins available. The food was incredible, including the decadent dinner buffet. They honestly left nothing to be desired. On our second morning, after a wonderful breakfast (included in your stay), our room key did not work. The front desk reset our keys (did not work), then gave us new keys (did not work), and finally called maintenance since it was assumed the issue was with the door lock and not the keys. Maintenance was able to get in with his own master key, but paused before letting us in, remarking that he wanted to make sure this was indeed our room. I was surprised, since the idea of crime in Iceland was completely non-existent, but comforted that they took our safety seriously. We were able to show him our passports once in the room to reassure him. That's quality service.

Walls were very thin, could hear people talking & snoring in next room. Beds not real comfortable as well as the pillow & duvet cover. Very rough material & single pillow flat & thin. Breakfast buffet was nice. A pretty location, but would probably not chose again due to having a mostly sleepless night.

Right outside of Vik, this was a convenient stop for us. The room was clean and the shower was nice. The hot tub and sauna were great! The breakfast was very well done! It has a great variety and staff monitoring to make sure everything was well maintained.

Nice hotel, kind of like a really nice camping lodge. Room was cozy and bed was comfortable. Free parking, delicious breakfast included. Perfect place to stay along the ring road.

Worst stay of our trip. We were engaged a few hours before and informed staff and were told no upgrades could be made. The bedding was horrible. Bug found in the bed. Staff were incredibly rude when checking in. Would not recommend staying here.

This hotel is surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was the most difficult place to stay with children of any of our accommodations in Iceland.

Overall good place. They have an outdoor hot tub, which seems like it would be nice most of the year. Sauna was small, but worked. They upgraded our room to something slightly nicer (so we’re told) and it was pretty nice; seems like the place was probably a bit of a grungy motel and they upscale it as best as possible without doing a tear down and rebuild; not the fanciest features, but at a quick glance, was quite hip and modern. The front desk staff was not friendly at check-in, but the morning staff were much more friendly; this honestly is probably the biggest thing that made me knock off a star. The morning included breakfast was probably the biggest shining star. It also is close to Vik for ease of access to restaurants and a few shops and black sand beach.

Perfect location. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful after a long day of travel. The hotel breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The spread of food and drinks was endless and very fresh.

Lovely hotel with great facilities. Really enjoyed our stay here.
