The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The location is ideal. It is right in the center of everything. Walkable to all the main attractions. The staff is quick to help in every way they can and did. We highly recommend this hotel to anybody going to Oslo. You will not be disappointed!

It was a lovely one-night stay after a writing retreat up north in a furnished place. It was what I needed before flying back to the US. Cute area too. I would recommend staying there again if I ever return to Oslo.

Very loud. There was pounding music until 2AM both nights of our stay. We also heard every Tram that passed on the rails in front of the hotel. We could have tolerated those things, but the worst was that we were lied to by the hotel about room charges. Unacceptable. When we checked in, we were told we could cancel the third night of our stay without penalty. This turned out to be a lie. When we checked out after our second night, we were told we were required to pay for the third night. We contested this decision but hotel management insisted on charging us anyway. Very deceptive practices. Do not stay here. Stay at the Karl Johan hotel across the park where we stayed a few nights before our terrible experience at Christiania Teater. Karl Johan is a beautiful hotel, comparable rates, much quieter, and they don't lie to you about room charges.

Likes: As central Oslo as one can be. The bar downstairs is very good although quiet. Some of the art is good but thats where the line is drawn. Dislikes: I booked Deluxe room but got a disabled equipped room in what appeared to be a construction area. I had hoped to sample classic old Oslo but this appeared to be a storeroom or some sort of conversion. No view whatsoever of Oslo, it had zero atmosphere and was expensive. All very disappointing but perhaps when booking with Expedia the hotels tend to choose such rooms, this has happened before. A warning about breakfast, it can get hectic and tables get reserved. The staff looked overwhelmed but the demanding public. On the whole the staff were friendly and helpful but it was not what I had hoped for and ironically the cheap hotel at the airport was a better experience (it was 1/5th of the price!).

The staff was super nice and helpful, the room was large and spacious and clean. Only 2 unexpected issues- I was put in a handicap room, and the shower door did not close so water was everywhere, and the bells from Town Hall are VERY LOUD at night. Not sure if a room on another side of the hotel would have helped? Also not sure if those bells ring every night....

Small feel hotel with character above a theater. Great location. Staff very helpful - especially Mathilda. Breakfast is excellent as is the pizza in the restaurant. Easy walk to local trains, train station, waterfront, etc

Need to pay extra to check in early even if the room was ready. Need to pay extra to check out one hour later. Not the welcome feeling.

Parking is a hassle, wish hotel would allow you to prepay without having to learn how their app works. No close or convenient lots.
