Staff is very nice as are the rooms basically, but it is on the third floor of an office building. No staff at night at all . Accommodating if you arrive late on day of arrival , but they close at 1:00PM on Sunday . Can’t even store bags after that time.

Very good in the decent basic hotel category. Clean, quite spacious, tea, coffee and an armchair in the room. Pleasant breakfast space. Very well located for both the bus station and the old town. Like many cheaper Finnish hotels, doesn’t have 24-hour desk coverage, though staff when there were efficient and polite.

Breakfast was good, not outstanding. Our room was clean and the sauna was great! Can't beat the location for walking around town and the old part of Borgå. The staff was nice. We had an issue with our room key one evening and could not get in. The desk is not manned in the evening so getting a hold of someone to let us in was difficult but once we made contact they remedied the situation promptly. Make sure you know the proper area code prefixes in Finland so you can make a call when needed! Yes, we would stay there again.

I spent 4 days at Sparre on quiet time early January. The hotel look is a bit old, but everything functions well. Large new TV was a plus. My room didn’t have safety deposit or minibar, so I think they should consider these if they want to upgrade a bit. The room was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and due to these Covid times you could arrange breakfast times with them. The breakfast was tasty and had a lot of options to choose from. I also got a very late checkout for free and it was very nice gesture from them. All in all I had a nice stay and with little improvements it could become even more pleasant.

The breakfast was very disappointing

The only access to the lobby was the hotel elevator that smelled, was filthy, with a large blob of spit on the door. The room was very outdated. The shower was disgusting with a lot of mold and grime. The room smelled bad. There was a loud machine noise all night. There was no "staff." We arrived to a closed, locked lobby at 3:00 pm. After calling security we had to navigate the vile elevator again, found our key on a counter, and found our vile room. This was not even remotely acceptable. Way over priced. Horrendous. A rating of 1 is much too kind.

The hotel is on the third floor of an office building and is fairly standard but I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderfully friendly and helpful staff who really made me feel at home.

I was in a business trip. All i looking was a clean bed, hot water and fast internet. They have them all, plus a decent breakfast was a complementary. I liked it

Iso parkkihalli, erinomainen aamiainen. Rauhallinen hotelli, hiljainen, koska 3.kerroksessa.

Hyvä ja positiivinen yöpyminen hotelli Sparressa. Huone oli siisti ja hyväkuntoinen, lisäpisteitä huoneen televisiosta, mihin oli ladattu muutama sovellus ja pystyi katsomaan sporttia omilla tunnuksilla. Aamiainen oikein hyvä ja selkeä kattaus. Ei mitään huonoa sanottavaa, ajankohta oli kevät eli ulkona ei vielä lämmin, joten paha sanoa, millaista huoneessa olisi kuumana kesäpäivänä,koska hotelli rakennuksen ylimmässä kerroksessa. Huoneessa toki oli tolppatuuletin.

Kauniit ja viihtyisät huoneet. Todella maukas aamupala. Sijainti hyvä.

Vår vistelse på Hotel Sparre var fantastiskt trevlig. Personalen var otroligt serviceminded och tillmötesgående på alla sätt. Rummen var rymliga, rena, bekväma och tysta trots att de låg mot gatan. Vi kommer garanterat återkomma flergånger!

Yöllä ilmastoinnin ääni häiritsi nukkumista.

Aina yhtä toimiva ja runsaine aamiaisineen

Hyvä perushotelli, ja aamiainen hyvä myös. Sijainti keskeinen vanhankaupungin ja jokirannan vieressä. Huone ja yleistilat siistit, siivous ei ilmeisesti automaatio, joten pyysimme lisänä mitä tarvitsimme. Huoneessa hieman lämmin ja tyynyt itselleni liian pehmeät.

Besökte släkt och vänner på min gamla hemstad. Övrigt var det OK utom att toaletten inte städades under vårt vistelse, det fanns smuts från föregående gäst kvar i duschen. Dåligt bäddade sängar och bäddades inte varje dag.

Ihana pikku hotelli loistavalla paikalla aivan Porvoon keskustassa.

Hotellihuone oli mukavasti sisustettu ja muutenkin erittäin toimiva ja siisti. Mukana matkannut koira oli huomioitu vesikupilla ja makuualustalla. Huoneessa ei ollut ilmastointia mutta me pärjäsimme tuulettimen avulla hyvin. Aamupala oli monipuolinen ja syödä sai rauhassa. Erityisen suuri plussa joka päivä lämpiävästä saunasta - sauna oli erittäin siisti ja hyvä, sain saunoa yksin koko ajan (ja kylpytakin ja tohvelitkin sai halutessaan respasta). Hotellin sijainti on myös erinomainen. Kaiken kaikkiaan suosittelen - myös koiran puolesta.

Hintaansa nähden kallis (maksoimme 160€/yö). Huoneessa todella kuuma, vaikka pystytuuletin oli saatavilla. Ikkunaa ei voinut pitää auki, koska ulkona yöllä oli todella meluisaa. Huoneen televisiota ei saanut kytkettyä nettiin. Hotelli viihtyisästi remontoitu. Aamupala oli ihan hyvä. Talvella matkustavalle parempi kohde, kun kuumuus ei häiritse ja hinnat todennäköisesti matalammat.
