Helpful staff, clean and beautiful interior

This very interesting historic hotel with lots of historic displays for our viewing was of great interest, the staff friendly, helpful always with a smile, table service in the bar was excellent , breakfast well you name it ,it was on offer we had excellent quality traditional English breakfast, may I add the whole hotel spotlessly clean the room was excellent a good view of the cathedral and the beds really comfortable we slept well, I will be going there monthly if the price is right by discount available periodicly.

Hotel is centrally located on the main market square. Don’t use their car park as it will cost you £15. I paid £7.80 to park on the square till 12 noon following day. Free or cheaper if you leave earlier. But my main gripe was that they could not provide me with any à la carte breakfast items even off the buffet. All I wanted was 1x egg on toast and a cup of coffee. I told the staff that due to recent weightloss surgery I couldn’t physically eat any more to warrant paying £12 for the full breakfast buffet.

Booked this hotel for my parents for for a concert at the corn exchange. They were really pleased with their stay. Their room was spacious with lovely decor, the breakfast was great and staff really friendly. Would recommend.

Hotel ok, some parts need maintenance, breakfast not special, room was ok, bed comfy, good shower, receptionists very helpful, but hotel in good position for local amenities.

Decent hotel, reasoably priced, good location. £15 overnight parking extra.

We didn’t use hotel amenities. The room was nice and clean, but not having socket/recharging points near the bed was an inconvenience.

Brilliant stay in the heart of lovely town. Walking distance to all of the local attractions. Delicious food.

Lovely hotel in central position. easy parking. Arrived late, night porter was very helpful. Lovely room . Breakfast was superb at respectable price add on . Will visit again when in area.

Our room was very clean and nice . It was on the first floor above the lobby /toilets which has piped music from 7.30am until late into the evening which could be heard all day in our room. It was also positioned in the alley side of the building next to the pub which is also noisy . So maybe not the hotel to stay in if you’re hoping for a quiet get away .
