Overall, our stay was good. The staff were pleasant and helpful where they could be. We enjoyed the amenities; in particular, the kayaking, sauna, and hot tub (when there weren't children in it!). Our room was clean, but it definitely could use a refresh. We had issues on our second day with the water in our room going out completely 3x (1x mid-shower!). We reported it each time and were only told that they were upgrading the system or that the hotel was full...neither was a very good explanation. No compensation was offered.

Very nice location, clean rooms!!!

Nice property for a quiet relaxing break. Very good breakfast and the pub on site was excellent. However we booked a room with a lake view and balcony but were given a very inferior small room overlooking the back of the hotel. We pointed out that this was not as booked and were told there was no room available. We were shown to another larger room with no balcony. We checked both Expedia and the hotels own website and there was still a room of the type booked available. Back to reception armed with the information and within an hour a room was found by the manager. A very frustrating check-in for an otherwise nice stay.

Classic architecture & waterfront

Booked last minute and we will be back. Everything was perfect from the customer service to the location to the amenities as well as the 2 restaurants, both delicious.

lovely room but water became cold when showering, really enjoyed the pool w/ beautiful view. The breakfast was wonderful. Found the fish n chips to be quite mediocre for expensive price paid. Batter too thick and bland and chips mediocre. Patio a lovely area to sit but in my opinion was ruined by the loud music. Would have preferred to have the tranquility of space to enjoy view. Beautiful place.

we absolutely loved our stay. the staff was extemely friendly and accomodating. there were endless games and activities to play, all included in the resort fee. The hotel was quiet and charming. We will be back!!

Only small issue was the house cleaning staff had a bit of attitude when i asked if our room was on her list to be cleaned. Other than that everyone was very nice.

We actually booked spur of the moment and were coming to check-out the resort for possible future booking. Suffice it to say we are returning in two weeks for a longer stay.

It was truly a slice of paradise. We can't wait to come back. They have everything you need, and more!

Everything about our experience at Windermere House was fantastic! The staff were friendly and kind, the room was clean and well maintained, the grounds were beautiful, and the food was fantastic! We spent 2 nights there, and it was not busy at all, which was lovely. There is so much to do outside as well. We utilized the spa and were thrilled with our couples massage (shoutout to Julie and Jason!). The Rosseau was an incredible meal (shoutout to Andy!). The only tiny recommendation I'd make is to install ceiling fans in the gym, cause it was hot. I very rarely return to a place more than once, but we will definately be back.

Amita was a very good hostess.She made our trip more enjoyable and we are looking forward to see here again and ofcourse the windmere with exculsive food and service

Enjoyed our stay after a rocky start at check-in. Unfortunately during a very heavy rainstorm there was no covered area to unload bags at the lobby entrance..we got soaked. The walk was difficult to navigate with an uneven surface. Otherwise the facility is beautiful, staff great, view amazing. The breakfast is also excellent! Thanks for a lovely stay ..

Great location, tranquil and beautiful. Enjoyed the pool, hot tub and sauna! The balcony overlooking the lake was incredible! Made our anniversary very special with surprise bottle of prosecco.

We had an amazing stay. The service by all staff was excellent and makes you feel special. The food is the best. Breakfast is so good and a nice start to the day. The grounds and access to the lake is he best I would highly recommend this establishment.

The pools were so nice! Even had sunshine. Great food in the pub. Happy to have it available even when dining room was closed. Had a special cocktail made specially for me.

We arrived at the property on Friday, and ate dinner at the pub that night. The food was not very good and the server was not attentive at all, even tho we sat beside the servers station. What we did not know, was that there was a wedding at the location on Saturday night. When we got back from having dinner elsewhere, we did not find any parking. When I went to ask where I could park, the person at the desk told us that everyone at the wedding was a guest at the hotel. I found that very hard to believe and said so. Our room was 2 floors above the room where the reception was held. The music started at about 9pm. Since this property is a wood structure, the sound insulation is non existent. It was almost like we were in the room where the reception was. The music continued and the base was incredibly loud. I called to the front desk for the first time, at around 11:30, asking if they could get the music turned down as there are noise laws. It did not happen. I called again to the desk just after midnight as were not able to sleep at all. I was told again that they would ask to turn down the music again... but again, it did not happen. I called again to the desk at 12:35am with the same question as we were still not able to sleep. I was then told that the music would stop at 1am. I stated that we had paid alot of money for the weekend stay, and we deserved some peace. We voiced our complaints to the manager to complain in the morning. We were NOT happy at all
