Nice clean rooms. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was mediocre.

The hotel is old and the rooms and facilities are really outdated. Paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable but all furnishings were really outdated. Location is good.

The staff was extremely courteous and helpful.

Well cared for property, quite intimate. Always thoughtful, 24 hour front desk, eager to help. Breakfast are continental breakfast, fresh pastries. Area of the hotel is quiet, and access to Metro is quite easy. Enjoyed our 11 day stay.

3rd stay at the wonderful Hotel de Varenne. The staff are incredibly welcoming, helpful and professional. Rooms are very quiet & comfortable. Hotel de Varenne is a true Paris gem with old world charm in a lovely location. Looking forward to our next visit.

nice neighborhood, small friendly hotel - will stay there again

The staff were all very courteous, receptive, and hospitable. I would give them 5 stars for the excellent staff. The hotel itself is quaint, has a great location, and is very walkable. The hotel is a little old which is true of a lot of hotels, but the rooms and particularly the bathroom is well sized for Paris. The one thing that detracted a bit was that the bed was very firm and the mattress did not breathe well, so even though it was winter, it was hard to sleep well with the humidity under the duvet and we often woke up to either throw off the blanket or pull it back up when it got cooler.

The hotel looks quaint and beautiful. I was delighted to be given a 'suite'. Sadly this was a room on the ground floor with a window to the street with a noisy bar opposite so sleep was a challenge. Add to this a room key that regularly failed to work the door lock and a receptionist who suggested a simple hack to unlock the door, my comfort level was not high when eventually shutting my eyelids. Other than this the room itself was fine and I did not get a chance to test the broader hotel facilities. Really sad as this is a great location.

Great stay

Room was smaller than expected but pretty typical for Paris. The hotel is on a fairly quiet street but several good restaurants within walking distance. The front desk staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Would be happy to stay again.

The room was spotless. Hotel staff were so friendly and helpful with suggestions. The location was excellent. With 20-40 minutes walk, we were able to visit an attractive place.

Very dirty, dusty room. The AC was probably never cleaned, ever! I have videos. Very poor for a 4 star hotel. Even poorer for Expedia VIP...

Great boutique hotel in a fairly quiet neighborhood. Not too far from the Musee d’Orsay and Rue Cler and Eiffel Tower. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I would stay there again.
