Exceptional staff and a very reliable, clean stay I had a great experience at Matiz. The hotel is simple but very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good, and while the internet was just "ok" (could be a bit faster), it got the job done. What truly set this stay apart was the incredible service. I realized upon arrival that I had accidentally made my Expedia reservation for the wrong date. Instead of turning me away, the staff identified the issue immediately and accommodated me for the correct dates without any hassle. They are an amazing team that clearly puts the guest first. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place with helpful staff, I highly recommend Matiz.

The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is good. The room is spacious, but the bed is not very comfortable. The hotel made an option to present itself as low budget, and does not offer hand towels or toiletries, for example. The problem is that it charges the same as other hotels in the area that do offer those things and have similar accomodations. It is not a bad hotel. But for the price, one can do better .

Amazing place!

It is a good and simple hotel. The neighborhood is safe, Breakfast is good, and the room is comfortable enough for a few days, with a good bathroom. I needed to use my internet plan, and the worst point was that the air conditioning device was pointed directly to the bed, which was a little annoying. Sadly, the swing function was not working. So, I let it turned on until I went to sleep and woke up a few times to turn it in and on again. Kind of tiring business.

Very basic hotel, convenient, good bang for your money.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, but always the same exact food each morning. The hotel did not provide shampoo in the rooms. I have never stayed in a hotel that didn't provide at least shampoo. There was internet that worked well, however there were no USB ports in the room. Fortunately I brought my own 120v plugs, which had USB ports as well as plugs.

Great service

My first time visiting Brazil from the US: Very friendly and helpful staff, who spoke English where my Portuguese was lacking. Everything was great except that I did not bring my own shampoo and conditioner, and the front desk did not have any to give me or sell to me. Also the toilets say not to put trash into them, but does that include toilet paper? (Yes, that includes toilet paper)

Good as usual. The bathroom needs some refurbishment. But it is a overall good experience.

. One night staying - desappointed

Friendly staff, great location. Close to most area points if interest as well as the airport. Breakfast was not included and tbh, could be improved. Brazilian hotels are known for their Breakfasts. This was disappointing.

When I come back to Brazil, I would stay there again. close to everything and near my family. Great rate, clean, great staff.

Good hotel with good service. Staff helpful and friendly

Very good service, the crew is very pleasant and attentive. The place is clean. The only inconvenience would be the bathroom exhaust switch, which should give the option to turn it off when not needed. It is so annoying that noise all the time.

I booked here because it was within walking distance (about 2 km, a bit more than a mile) to the University of Campinas campus where I attended a conference. The front desk staff were multilingual, helpful, and competent. The breakfast (included with the room) was very good-wide selection of Brazilian and American foods, good service, adequate seating.) Rooms were clean and comfortable. If the main noise I noticed when the window was open was a rooster in a yard some distance away, I guess it qualifies as quiet. The pool area was good for relaxing. There are may restaurants and stores within walking distance. Overall, the Matiz Barao Geraldo was one of the better hotels I have stayed in during visits to Brazil.

Nice business-type hotel close to campus (10 min walk, then catch free campus bus) and also close to Barrao Geraldo bars and restaurants. Supermarket 5 min walk away.
