Stayed at APA Hotel Niigata Furumachi and the experience was disappointing mainly because of the bed quality. The mattress was extremely soft and badly worn out, sinking deeply in the middle until it felt like we were touching the bottom of the bed frame. It was very uncomfortable and made it difficult to get proper rest. When we requested to change rooms or a topper, a senior lady staff member informed us that all the beds in the hotel were the same, so no alternative solution was offered. While the location of the hotel is convenient and the room was generally clean, the poor mattress condition seriously affected our stay. Would only recommend this hotel if you do not mind very soft and worn mattresses.

I was not a big fan of this place. Not super clean in some part of the room. Terrible AC placement. They only have one laundry machine and it's hidden in the onsen section forcing you to walk shoeless on a semi- wet floor.

The bed is too soft; there is no support for the spine.

Great location (by a stop for the tourist bus, near the pedestrian street). Bed is super hard. Wifi cuts out after a little while and you have to reconnect.

They didn't have an iron, but a good affordable hotel otherwise.

Friendly, professional staff. A relaxing sento. Room was extremely comfortable. Free VOD movies was a nice touch. Paid parking at the hotel was 1100yen per night for secured car elevator-style. Highly recommended.

1. A bit far from Niigata station, but it takes like only 20 mins to walk if you don't want to go by bus 2. Plenty of shops nearby, so quite easy to do some shopping at night too

Nice clean room and friendly staffs, 10 to 15 minutes walk to Bandai bridge

Nice hotel. Great for getting to events, festivals and certain sight seeing areas. A bit far from transport on really hot or cold days but overall nice.

Great location, walking distance to most major city attractions. Located in the middle of restaurants and shopping area. 7/11 super close for late night needs. Well staffed and clean hotel, with an onsen that helps you relax after a day of exploring/working. The room wasn’t anything special, but honestly it was pretty great considering the price.

Bed too hard

The APA chain of hotels is quite good, this hotel in no exception. Most, or maybe all, have a public bath you can use instead of your bathroom. This hotel is somewhat of a long walk if you arrive at the train station, but there is a lot of buses that head in the hotels direction.

Good location but dusty room......................

The hotel is conveniently located to the port for ferry's to Sado Island and the main train station. The restaurant in the area are just O.K. WIFI very reliable.

The experience is generally good. Transport If you need to travel to the hotel from Niigata station, you can go straight from the Main East Entrance to the orange colour BRT bus stop zero "0". The travel takes 10 minutes, you need to off the bus in Honmachi station, go straight and turn left when you see the Niigata Central Post Office on the opposite.
