Lovely pools and botanical gardens. We even saw a sloth in the trees. Only downfall was the location, the road to the hotel was not ideal. 30+ km on very poor gravel road. We did a waterfall hike which was fantastic!

Spotless room with wonderful bed, lovely amenities (coffee/coffee maker, glass drinking glasses, mini fridge) and friendly, gracious staff in every position throughout the property. The pools were relaxing and/or rejuvenating (depending on the temperature), the grounds are beautifully maintained and the food is plentiful and delicious. Thank you for a lovely and relaxing stay!

Everything from the friendly staff, good food, and nice rooms was good. The only thing I feel like they need to do is upgrade the gym.

The entire resort feels like a botanical tropical garden. Absolutely stunning flowers, trees. And a butterfly house to top it off. The staff was amazingly helpful in organizing day trips and we had a great time.

The resort was dated. Also when we got there we were informed that no outside food or drinks were allowed and as such we were forced to use the one restaurant at the resort as there were no other restaurants in the area due to the remote location. Further they list horseback riding as an activity. When we got there we were told that we would be driven to another location and would ride the horses back on the roadways. We booked two nights and left after the first night.

Nothing close to nicer places around the Arenal, very hard to get to, but in the heart of tropical forest. Not enough activities for more than 3 days

The rooms, dining area and facilities were in excellent condition. The range of pools with different temperatures was fantastic as the weather changed. Food was freshly cooked and healthy. The tours available were fantastic for the kids, and the dinosaur tour had some really good animatronics for the jurassic park fans

It was rainy season but the trails should have gravel or something not mud All pools and natural sauna should be functioning properly Love the property and staff the rooms are great The above was the only disappointment

Pros: Room was huge and it was really nice to have towels we could bring outside of it. Grounds were lovely and included a butterfly enclosure and an orchid garden which was not in bloom but was still very lovely. The 5 pools were the highlight of the grounds with the natural Hot Springs being our favorites. It was not crowded when we went so we had the pools to ourselves each time. There is also a very cool natural sauna type room which was really neat but my glasses fogged up so I didn't spend as much time in it as I might have otherwise. At reception they can arrange a lot of different outings and we took advantage of going to the cathedral waterfall which was a short walk from the hotel but because we were across the river we did need the guides who were great. For food, I have Celiac disease and while there were no GF markings on the menu I felt the staff went out of their way to provide me safe options and food. They even were able to bring me a gluten-free breakfast one morning without charging me since the free Continental breakfast does not have any options but fruit for those who need to eat gluten-free. Finally, the Blue River cocktail was delicious! Cons: the food overall was not good. I did like my breakfast of potatoes and bacon but for dinner it is very basic and cafeteria like. I had mashed potatoes and the sea bass night 1. The sea bass was so overcooked that I picked it up by hand and ate it like jerky- it was crispy! Chicken night 2 was no better.
