Awesome place. Wonderful food, clean quiet and friendly. If you don't love the Philippines go to Hof and let Christine look after you- she is a beautiful friendly lovely woman. I read reviews on Hof before I booked and I can't understand why people complain about trivial stuff. The whole experience there was excellent-only downside is that it 's a bit of a trek to get to.

We had an amazing stay at Hof Gorei. They offer boat transfer from Sta Ana Wharf to the resort. When we arrived, the staffs were very welcoming and gave us welcome drinks. We booked Pinzgau Chalet which is located on top of hill with 217 steps but when we arrived, the manager upgraded our room to beach front cabanas which was super awesome. The room was beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable. Love the sea view and sunset. Perfect for couple and family. The food was a bit expensive but they have big serving. Fettucini Gregorio is a must try. You can request to set up a romantic dinner. Kuya Teteng, our butler, accommodates all our request and made our stay hassle free. Will definitely recommend this place to our friends.

It was perfect for me and my partner. The staff is very pleasant and the room is super cozy. The view from the round hut is truly amazing. The food is amazing too. The jacuzzi and the pool is worth the dip. Thanks. :)

We had a great time, our visitors from Manila really enjoyed their stay, us too who are Davao locals. Let me break it down: cleanliness: the room is spotless clean. The beach area shows good maintenance, however the pool needs a little attention. Services: 101% great! The butlers are polite and awesome! Comfort: we had a great sleep. Airconditiong worked fine. Our food were served wherever we want 🙂 Location: peaceful and quiet. A little steep and we had to climb a few steps to get to our rooms but we didn't mind the exercise 😘 food: delicious and nice plating, a little pricey but hey as I mentioned they will serve it no matter where you want.

They have free boat transfers from Davao City Proper, and they are the only resort that provides free butler service to assist you within your stay. They also offer affordable land and island hopping packages/tours. Ala carte food serving is big and delicious! 😋 Free breakfast is great! Will definitely come back here. 😊

It was a great experience celebrating my birthday at Hof Gorei.The place was fantastic a nice place for honeymooners.They also have a mini zoo,a big pool and our cottage has a great view, we occupy the round hut B. Breakfast was okay and the meal we ordered for dinner was fine its expected that its a bit pricey but we are not satisfied on the porkchop we order ang tigas nya so if you have false teeth a big no no for you. Good thing they have a very attentive butler and all the crews are polite and nice .. I love the free boat transfer and the fact that they allow pets so we were able to bring our fur baby. The downside is they also have stray dogs on the beach so we weren't able to enjoy the beach because of it. Hope they will make improvement on that matter. Will still going back given a chance.

A nice peaceful place. nice service. the beach is not good for swimming because it's grassy and muddy. but the place is beautiful.

If you like a resort that is quiet and have limited crowds then this place will suit you. Lots of exotic birds in the resort, downside is there is plenty of bird poop on the pathways. The beach is nice and pleasant, on the other hand lots of stray dogs too which spoils the ambiance if you want to dine in the beachfront. There is no other place to eat except inside the resort, expect to put a lot of money because their prices are above average. Food are tasty, hopefully they can lower the price.

Hotel provides free boat ride in and out of Samal but transport from hotel to the island's main road is bit of a challenge. Free breakfast was of small serving. You're left with no choice but to buy food from their restaurant. Nevertheless, 2 thumbs up for their great service and a really scenic and relaxing location. Place is very recommendable to those who wanted to be away from the city vibes. (Booked my parents for a two day stay here last Feb 13 to 15.)

Beautiful place! Medjo malayo yung byahe pero worth it. We booked a hillside room but it was not available, instead we were upgraded to a larger room. Rooms are with hot shower, tv, aircondition, queen sized bed and refrigerator. Best part is we had a personal butler! Alona served us very well, there was also dinner and breakfast by the beach which is superb! On time preparation and serving time. There's also free boat ride going to their place and upon leaving. Just contact the hotel first. All in all, perfect place to relax for those who are looking for a quiet place to stay in Samal Island.

There’s peace and quiet. Food was superb! Never had to share the pool. Beach front looks great. Staff butler Mikoy was conveniently always available without being obtrusive. The place has flair and art, plenty of greenery, flowers and wild birds too! Paradise.

Everything's so expensive except the free round trip ride, beach smells like sewage, nothing to do at night,

The place is nice, our room was even upgraded to a Bungalow for free :) However, the food is a litttle expensive and the location is a bit far from the famous destinations in Samal. But I recommend the place if you are looking for relaxation and quality time with your partner or family :)
