very hot day. Dinner was really spoilt by all the wasps and flies, should have had something hanging from the trees to attract them away from the tables, it’s a shame as the food was very nice. Air con in the room not up to the job, but it was a very hot night.

The Arraya Hotel has a lot of charme of an old town house constructed in the style of he region. It has cosy and stylish bedrooms and friendly service

Lovely hotel and everyone was very friendly. We had a beautiful meal in the restaurant and the location was very pretty. Unfortunately, whilst our dog was made very welcome from the owners, there were two cats that lived in the hotel and the stairs/floors made it quite difficult to stay there easily with a big dog.

Lovely stay in a historic hotel with beautiful Basque decor. Nestled in the foothills and in a strategic location for touring wonderful towns like Saint Jean de Pied and Espelette. The town is very cute with some very lovely views of the Pyrenees. Rooms were comfortable as was the bed. Note: handheld shower, but made me feel nostalgic for classic European hotels visited in years past. Enjoyed the fresh air thanks to the balcony and French doors in our room. Loved the antiques displayed throughout the building. Dining room is pretty and authentic. Dinner was ok, not amazing, yet service was excellent and it was convenient. I would definitely return if in the area, and after seeing Biaritz and St.Jean de Luz, I would encourage you to go inland to get a better feel for Basque life.

Hotel Arraya is a charming 16 room inn furnished with antiques, country fabrics & all rooms have dark, ancient appearing beams. Guest room comfortable & quiet, bathrooms modern with shower & tub. Friendly staff & house cat. Very good on site restaurant serves dinner, generous continental breakfast in room or restaurant. Free parking nearby. Sare is a lovely walkable a Basque village.

Fantastic stay in Hotel Arraya. We did not realise the village festival was on but it was a pleasant surprise and great fun. The management were fantastic and gave us a complimentary upgrade to a suite to compensate for noise disruption. We also had dinner in the hotel and really enjoyed it. Would certainly recomend both Sare and this hotel.

This is basically a 17th century building -maybe older, - with much of the original structure in place and period furniture to match giving a distinctive flavour to the stay. All modern amenities present though - huge and comfortable beds, bathroom with bath, shower and bidet; the restaurant is superb and I would eat there anytime if I were in the area. The hotel is right in the middle of the small village, which, however was very quiet during our stay (late June). The village is picturesque and famous for that.

Our stary in the lovely, family run hotel was excellent. The owners and staff were very freindly with an excellent restaurant. Parts of the hotel date from the 16th century but with all the modern convienences you would require. Lovely athmosphere around the hotel. If you like walking in rural France this Basque region is fantastic, with way mark walks to suit all levels. If you are in the area it is worth booking a lunch or dinner anytime you are near this lovely basque village. Coming from Ireland we had a direct flight into Biarritz and Sare is less than an hours dive.
