liked everything except the beach. It was very rocky and full of sargassum seaweed.

I had a wonderful experience during my stay. The location was convenient, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the accommodations were clean and comfortable.

We had a really nice stay at Barceló Maya Caribe overall. The resort was very clean, the food was great, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The facilities were also very good and well maintained. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the noise situation around the pools and hallways. Some guests, especially weekend groups, were bringing large portable speakers and playing loud music everywhere, even though the resort already provides music in the designated pool areas. At times there were multiple speakers competing with each other around the same pool, which really took away from the relaxing atmosphere. One night there were even people shouting and playing loud music in the hallway around 4 AM. I understand this is mostly caused by certain guests, but I think the resort should enforce stricter rules about personal speakers and quiet hours, because otherwise the experience becomes much less enjoyable for everyone else. That said, this is still a very good resort and we genuinely enjoyed our stay. One small note as well: some activities/facilities that are usually included at other resorts, like the water slides, required extra payment here.

Very nice place to visit for a vacation. Staff, food drinks, hotel room all great.

The staff were nice. I had to pay $25 cash base on Expedia final fees after arival but for some reason they charged $50. A lot of rocks. My friends, that came with me, said they not going to return because of that reason. And a lot of sea weeds. Stinking so bad at the beach.

We gave Barceló another chance and I’m so glad we did. The food improved a lot since our last visit, the pool was always clean, and the amenities were great. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely come back.

Fast check in. Very polite and helpful staff. Easy to get restaurant reservations. Big variety of food, and it also good taste. Spa is amazing. Nice beach with white sand, and shallow water. This time was a lot of seagrass, but it isn't about hotel, it's about nature.

Ptoperty in need of updating & repair. Been coming to Barcelo's every year since 2010 nothing about it is the same. Given the price increase & property condition this is probably our last visit sad to say as we loved coming here prior, it was our home away from home.

The room we stayed in need to be remodeled, looks outdated, staff can be rude if you don’t tip them every time they do something for you, otherwise they ignore you.

I felt like I was in heaven on earth! It was clean, entertaining, and the best place I’ve ever been to.

We’ve been coming to the Barcelo for more than 20 years. We were very surprised to see how rundown it had become and how poorly it was maintained. The food was mediocre, at best, meats every day were dried out and we watched other guests sawing to cut pieces off. Our room was not cleaned and no clean towels provided 2 of our 7 days there. In addition, the gift shop at the pool area completely ripped us off. There was no price tag on a 6oz bottle of sunscreen and shame on us for not asking the cost. We anticipated paying $20 or so, which would have been more than double its store cost,especially since we’re guests, but when the charge appeared on our credit card, they had charged us $56!!! We thought it must be a mistake, but no, rip your guests off and extort them. Needless to say, we will not ever be returning to the Barcelo.

Staff, including Maria Valasco and Maria Poot, were incredible. I had an injury at the resort and they upgraded our room without hesitation. Would I go back? Yes.

We had a wonderful trip to Barcelo Maya Caribe. We loved how big and beautiful our resort was and loved being able to walk to and explore the sister resorts- each one had beautiful details and places to see and it was fun to discover new things every day. During our stay we had two dinners that we had to reserve at the ale crate restaurants, other than that we could eat at any of the buffets. The buffets were great - food was always fresh and cooked to perfection. Fruit and fruit juices were incredible. There were “snack bars” buffet style restaurants by the beach and pools which we went to for lunch and those were great too! We did get turned away from Tokyo (one of the ale cadre restaurants) because my husband was wearing flip flops (even though most people wore flip flops or sandals walking out of there ) so next time we will bring sneakers. The staff worked incredibly hard to keep the place clean inside and outside. It was the perfect vacation without our kids but we are strongly considering planning a family trip in the future as it is a great place for kids as well!

Spa was great. Massage was definitely well worth booking you won't regret it, and the hydrotherapy was also worth booking (better if you have premium level as you can book once a day).

Beautiful Resort!!! Buffets indoor and open air buffets by the beach were delicious and fresh. Breakfast had fresh squeezed orange juice, Champagne 🍾, made to order juice smoothies, made to order eggs and omlettes, fresh fruit, yogurt, and yogurt smoothies drinks. Specialty Restaurants were very good. Beach was nice. If you go down by the Palace the water was clear blue when we were there 4/25/26 - 5/2/26. You didn't even need snorkeling equipment and you could see turtles come up for air. Very nice resort, only lacking the wildlife such as Monkeys, Coati's, ect as we seen on other resorts. I rate this resort 5 stars 🌟 for a Resort in Mexico. We stayed in the Barcello Caribe. Even there resort gift shops were cheaper on items then in at Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. They do have an outdoor Mexican shopping center that was never busy when I saw, but they were pricee gouging with their absurd prices. One tube of Suntan lotion was $50 US as compared to price in gift shop at $38 US. In Playa Del Carmen, 5th Avenue I found it for $22 US dollars. So take enough suntan lotion, a med bag of things for common illnesses, and cosmetics you need before going. They do have body was, shampoo, and conditioner that was fine to use. So do your research!
