Albergo Sala was a unique experience in the small village of Valbrona. It was quiet and not much to do but that's what we were looking for. The staff were excellent and very helpful and the food was wonderful. The inn is historic and has been in the family for a few hundred years! As it is off the beaten track it is advisable to have a car as public transport is infrequent and challenging and taxi service is quite expensive. Aside from that it was a great place to stay a few days.

The area is beautiful. The staff really worry about giving their guests a great stay.

Comfortable family run hotel near the lake. My stay was made comfortable by the owner and staff, breakfast was hearty and the room spacious with a comfy bed.

I stayed at this hotel for one night as I was passing through. It’s a small village and not much to do, but a 10 minute drive and you’ll be down by the lake where there’s a restaurant you can eat and drink at - but you’ll need to drive there. The hotel was nice, the view lovely, the staff super nice - but there was no airconditioning which was terrible as it was extremely hot. I was not able to sleep well because of this. They were so kind and gave me a free glass of wine the first evening before heading down to the lake.

This was a great out-of-the way place to stay whilst visiting the Lake Como region. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent. Great food and drink. A comfortable and good value for money hotel.

Great staff and located not too far from the lake! Room was a little cramped and spots of mould in the bathroom. Breakfast was simple. Perfect for a night's stay, if passing through.

Good hotel located in a village just a short drive from Lake Garda. Rooms basic but comfortable & secure off road parking.

Amazing location in mountains around Lake Como. Small village but one have a restaurant on site. About 20 minutes driving to Bellagio and 1 hour to Malpensa Airport. Not expensive!!!!

A small village and the local guest house and restaurant. They could not have been more welcoming and concerned that everything was OK. It seems to be the centre of activity in the Village and was impressed by the effort made to make me welcome and comfortable. Finally I even got a present of a bottle of wine upon my departure.

Great hospitality And so wecoming and friendly. I would definitely return and highly recommend the Albergo sala!!!

Hotel offered free parking and has a nice restaurant.

We arrived to be greeted straight away with a cup of coffee. The first room we were shown to was out the back, not attached to the main building. It was not big enough to swing a cat in, let alone two suitcases. After my wife had taken a shower, she mentioned to the owner that the water was not very hot, and room was not very big. Without any hesitation he put us into a much bigger room in the main building, with hotter water and a magnificent view. Even though we were the only guests, each night in the restaurant, we were given the full treatment. However, we still can't work out why Italians insist that no restaurant opens until 7.30pm. The food was home made and cooked by the owner's wife, and there was a good selection of wine. The owner showed us places to visit around Lake Como, and we probably saw things we wouldn't have seen without his knowledge. To top off our pleasant stay, we were presented with a bottle of wine, the sort was had enjoyed with our meals over the two nights. Customer service at it's best!!! Good parking.

In my many experiences of hotels stay all over the world, there are some of these that I cannot forget at all! This hotel is one of those. I was very happy of my stay and the unlimited kindness of the hotel owners. We arrived after midnight and had to knock doors. The owner came down to open the parking and rooms. He was very kind to ask if we need to eat anything as he see how tired we were. He was apologizing for not being awake to receive us while it was our fault. Next day hotel lady presented us 4 bottles of wine as complementary. As we all do not drink, she offered anything else and we accepted water. She had some troubles with the credit card machine so she provided me with her bank account and accepted that I transfer the money when I am back home. This is really amazing and excellent customer service. The hotel is an excellent one for getaway with the beautiful surrounding nature.

Very friendly family run hotel. Traditional evening meal well cooked served without pretensions on balcony. A real bonus as did not see anywhere else nearby to eat. Windy road to bellagio frequented by cyclists but lovely views, Your own transport essential, if approaching by car from south over shoot, turn around and approach from other direction due to sharp turn into car park, locals are keen to help.
