Excellent hotel. Great breakfast. Breathtaking views. Wonderful reception.

Hotel in great location, situated on the shore of Jyväsjärvi lake in the middle of university campuses. 20 minutes from local airport. Very comfortable and practically furnished rooms with an excellent view of the lake (I recommend choosing a room with a private sauna, it's really worth it). Good breakfast, the hotel restaurant is also good. What is really brilliant, is the very nice and helpful reception staff, who will give you comprehensive information about local transport, sights, and will recommend a really great local restaurant (Kissanviisket, you must visit). Jyväskylä has very nice Alvar Aalto museum, Central Finland museum and, nearby in Tikkakoski you will find the Finnish Air Force Museum.

Other than the twin room being quite small, everything was excellent. And a wonderful view of the lake and lit up pedestrian bridge

I piced this hotel at random, as it was directly on my route. The hotel itself is nothing "special", everything is as expected. Okay, the location by the lake is superb, and the service was very friendly and professional. But what struck me was the restaurant. It was absolutely incredible – I planned to get a quick bite, but looking at the menu I knew that wasn't going to be the case. The menu was full of amazing sounding dishes, and I had a hard time to make choices, everything looked so fantastic. And the dishes themselves didn't disappoint, the food was absolutely fantastic, also very well served and presented: 10/10. Highly recommended for foodies!

We enjoyed our night's stay a the Finlandia Hotel Alba. The room and facilities were very clean. We enjoyed having a sauna in our room.

Beautiful location by the lake. Lots of free parking spots nearby. The room was small and noisy but cheap. Breakfast was okay, pretty standard. The location and the view are definitely the highlights of this place, everything else was just okay.

When we got to our room we noticed that the floors had not been cleaned. Quite a bit of dust balls crumbs etc around. We complained at reception and went for dinner when we returned it had been taken care of. We loved the location. Right in the lake, we managed to swim off of the dock of the hotel. Breakfast was very nice. We would go here again.

As long as the restaurant is avoided, this is a charming, lovely place to stay with clean, quiet rooms at a reasonable price point. The staff are joyful, welcoming and could not have been more helpful - all in all a wonderful experience and I will revisit! :c)

Somewhat hidden away but surprisingly walkable to downtown, our rooms had beautiful views of a lake. Furnishings and amenities were basic. The ample breakfast, with hot dishes constantly replenished, included Finnish specialties, in a most pleasant dining room.

everything was just in the standard level. Staffs were friendly and breakfast was good enough.

Very nice hotel, highly recommended if you need a comfortable and clean place to stay with friendly staff. Will stay here if in the area.

We only had one night at this location but enjoyed it very much. I must admit that we took an upgrade and stayed in one of their rooms with a sauna. This room also sat on the lake and you felt as if you were on a boat. Nice way to relax before hitting the road again the next morning. This hotel sits in a quiet place across the river from the university so it was a lovely setting. I did peek at the regular rooms and they were on the small side, but if you can afford an upgrade, you will be very happy.

On the way up North this is suitably situated and the new summer menu was worth eating after hard work week.

horrible room for £100 - more like a hostel room than a hotel. Freezing cold. no heating on in winter in Finland. Ridiculous. Was so cold I asked to change room - eventually they gave me room (much better one) but made me feel guilty for asking. Awful checkout. Only wanted to drop key as I'd prepaid everything, but the receptionist talked non stop on phone for over 10 mins and ignored me - only wanted to catch her eye to be sure she saw that I was leaving the key. Rude beyond belief
