Although the staff were reasonably nice, the building is beautiful, and the room had heating, we experienced several disappointing things. We are not going back. The location: The neighborhood was very loud (this was a Friday night), and it is not particularly easy to reach the port. Taxis had to go pretty far out of the way, and if traffic was bad, really far out of the way, to get there. One taxi ride to the port cost me 15 MDH, but the return was just 5. Taxi: And speaking of getting to the port, we asked the hotel to call a taxi for us (three of us, with just one suitcase) at 7 am. They called a grand taxi, which charged us 40 MDH for that same 5 dirham ride. Perhaps I should have thought of that beforehand, but anyway their judgement was very poor, and I wish they had at least given me the information. But they didn't, which tells me they do this regularly. As in so many places in this country, we were just another set of walking euros. Food: We ate at the hotel's restaurant, which was truly disappointing. The "soupe de légumes" was bland, and the "vegetarian" tagine had clearly been cooked in lamb. Blech. 30 euros, all together — by far our most expensive meal in the country — and we couldn't stomach the main course. As I said, we'll not be going back, thank you.

The room was clean and nice. Great location. Little bit smaller shower. And quite pricey for what you get. But overall it was good.

Quaint. Good location in the medina. Good meals. We liked the patio setting. Front desk staff was accommodating. Would have stayed longer if we could

1. Checking in took 2.5 hours. At 5PM room was not ready 2. Room was smoking and everything was reeking of cigarettes. They didn't change room 3. Bugs were all over the ceiling and they said they will clean once we check out 4. No coffee machine or tea kettle in room 5. All ceilings we're chipped and water damaged.

The staffs are helpful. Good location for sightseeing. The shower room is quite old but works no problems. The airport shuttle service is convenient.

The hotel is located near the entrance of Medina. Great location if you want to explore the market. Close to the taxi station. The bathrooms need serious cleaning. You could see the muld on the walls. One of the receptionist was rude to us. We asked him to call for a taxi when we left. He did call and told the taxi driver to ask for more money then that ride should cost, the receptionist thinking that we did not understand him.

Lovely clean hotel in excellent location. A 15 minute taxi ride from the port at Tarifa, and within walking distance of the Medina & Kasbah. Friendly helpful staff. We had a super evening meal on the terrace at the hotel, and a very good breakfast the following morning. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Excellent hotel for the money, the near to the Medina makes it a bit noisy though at night(until 1am). Service/Staff is excellent and extremely helpful with any task.

I felt good in this hotel and my room. The staff from reception was more than nice and helpful and we received good information for anything that we asked. Though I booked a single room for 3 nights and a double room for the last, I was given a double room with the price of single room for which I'm very grateful. The breakfast was good and varied. The only small issue I have to mention is that the air conditioner did not blow warm air (even after an hour). A friend of mine who stayed in another room didn't have this problem so I could have asked for another room but since it wasn't so cold in the night I didn't need that.

Great location. It's near the ferry (20 minute walk up a steep road into the medina). Just go to the main medina entrance, walk straight up to the first main circle, then turn right onto Italia Street. It's one minute from the main circle but so nice and quiet. Star was friendly. Room was HUGE and clean and nice.

This was our favourite place that we stayed at while in Morocco. Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, working air con and wifi (I later found this to be a rarity in other hotels/riads!) Would highly recommend if stopping off in Tangier (which is a great place).

The hotel is an older property and not as well maintained as other places that we stayed during this trip. It was also too noisy for my tastes. There was lots of street noise (motorcycles, etc) and other guests could be heard as well. As a light-sleeper, this didn't work well for me. Some might really like the location as it is in the midst of a bustling market and on a busy street. For me, though, it lacked an element of tranquility that I like on my travels.

Given a huge room (a suite) which whilst lovely was freezing, we resorted to laying a towel at the bottom of the door. Felt very French with wooden floorboards and huge shuttered windows. Beds & linen were excellent and clean. Bit of a high step into shower which became obvious when noting the speed which the water "didn't" drain away. We heard one guest complaining of intrusive noise from neighbouring cafes during the night but we luckily didn't hear anything. We ate lunch on arrival, two massive cous cous each. Then had breakfast next morning excellent except if purporting to be typical it was missing olives. The receptionist said I was wrong but I've been visiting Morocco for over 40 years and have always been given them.

I stayed for several days. I had work to do and also needed some rest. The hotel has a sitting room with a small library, which I used, a TV and DVD player (neither of which I used). The food was good and the patio very pleasant. Being located in the center of the median, in a safe street, close to good restaurants, gives you an idea of real Moroccan life, and the sound of the country. Children of the nearby school play and talk, many couples with children buy food and sweets in clean and trustworthy shops, plenty of fruits are sold everywhere (just be careful and wash them well before eating), as well as clothes, shoes and almost everything.

Staff put us on the third floor and then three of them (all men) watched as we (two women) struggled to carry to large suitcases up the stairs. No one ever offered to help. The room was small and musty. There was no hot water or hairdryer, and the noise outside made it difficult to get to sleep.
