Breakfast was good, but no oranges, no fish, and no porridge options. Room was very nice, but, windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned for months, years even - could hardly see out of them. Seemed very understaffed. Same person was doing reception, barmaid, waitress duties - LONG wait for food at dinner. Gardens looked like no maintenance for many months.

We arrived late and left early, and didn't have breakfast so can't comment on many of the things asked about. However it would have been helpful to know in advance that the A12 was subject to night time closures so that we didn't have to go back on ourselves to access it from the A14 instead. That was not a welcome surprise at 9.30pm after a long drive.

The hotel is in need of an upgrade both with the room decor and bathroom fittings. The overall appearance is tired and shabby, and the room was very cold. No central heating but we were given a fan heater! Very noisy and no temperature control, so an unpleasant heat. Although there is a caution warning about the hot water, it is instantly scalding and the hot and cold taps are the opposite way round to normal, so beware. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the bedding clean

Lovely stay

This was just about the worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. Terrible damp smell, no working heating, stains on the towels, leaking shower, loose toilet seat, extra bed not made up despite knowing it would be needed, creaky bed frames, terrible decor condition, towel rail falling off the wall, and other things. I would never stay here again.

This hotel had very comfortable rooms, the staff were very pleasant and helpful, the restaurant menu was slightly limited but the breakfast was very good, particularly the table service breakfast the first day when the hotel wasn’t so busy. Overall good value for money.

Lovely quiet stop over on route to a track experience. Bed was comfortable, breakfast cooked fresh to order and hwlpful staff.

We had 3 family rooms in The Lodge for 2 nights . The beds/sheets/towels were clean and comfortable And the hospitality tray was well stocked but the rooms / bathrooms look neglected and dated and definitely need upgrading . The nets (?) at the windows were dirty and should be removed or replaced . The breakfast buffet was adequate but not impressive .The staff were kind . Don’t think we will be staying again .🙁

Hotel was ok on the whole although it clearly is in need of updating. Breakfast was nice, lovely pastries. Room was adequate but mattress was a bit lumpy. However, the worst was the lack of air conditioning as the heat in the room made sleeping very difficult.

Very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunatly there were no hand rails to get in and out of the bath/shower or soap trays

Lovely clean huge room beds very comfortable modern room all usual facilities.staff very kind and helpful. Quiet hotel even though a lot of people staying there.able to have dinner there which was nice and reasonable for a hotel breakfast was buffet from full English to toast and cereals and danish pastries .first time for me to stay at a best western hotel , it won’t be the last,

Massive bed. Narrow bath/shower made it a bit of a balancing act whilst showering.

Great for getting into Ipswich but the room was stifling. No aircon meant the room was super hot. The bed was tiny and the shower was rubbish so small I had to stand sideways in the bath . The staff we met were really nice but yeah the rooms need an upgrade.

Easy check in, friendly staff, great food in the restaurant and good bedroom size. The beer garden was an added bonus. Great value for money

Food average, kitchen base missing on arrival. One morning cups,spoons and one towel not changed. Staff very helpful, very positive and polite. Hotel bit dated,but very nice.

We stayed in a family room with 1 double bed and 2 singles, which was the size of two rbedooms with a bathroom in the middle between. The room itself was quite spacious but warm. Lovely in the winter I'd guess but not so much in the summer! The beds weren't the most comfortable but were okay. The service in the hotel was the main perk, all the staff we met were lovely and helpful. The bar prices weren't at all bad either!
