This resort has a good reputation for a reason. Our stay here was truly magical. The resort grounds, staff, facilities, and food are hands-down the best we experienced in Sri Lanka. The spa is a must where Lina and her colleagues will pamper you like royalty. It was so very difficult to leave. We are already making plans to return. OsborneAdventures

Lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens. Attentive staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It’s spoiled us at the start of a 3 week trip to Sri Lanka. Our next hotel was a real let down after Ulagalla!!

Unbelievably charming hotel with lovely staff and owners who are very keen to look after their guests well. Delicious breakfasts and food. Used as base to visit Anuradhapura and Polonnawura and to do elephant safari. You won’t be disappointed - idyllic setting.

The property is located about 4 hours north of Colombo inna beautiful, tranquil environment. Upon arrival, we were greated by the staff and GM of the hotel and participated in a Welcome ritual. Check-in was fast and we were driven to our chalet with a buggy. The hotel only has 20 chalets (more new ones opening in Jan 2019) which are separated from each other, so guest can enjoy the nature in peace. The chalets are huge with a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom. Each chalet has 2 bikes, which guests can use to access the amenities around the property. Unfortunately we only stayed for 1-night; however the experience was quite unique. We got an aromatherapy massage, which felt amazing after a 30+ hour trip. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, which was expensive; however it was worth it as the quality of food and service was world class! The staff is all about making sure each guest is treated like a queen/king and leaves with an experience/memory of a lifetime! I highly recommend this hotel and woukd definitely stay here the next time I come to Sri Lanka!

Not for the faint hearted but if you are happy to live side by side with bugs, bats and monkeys, you will be richly rewarded with a unique experience that is second to none. Service is exceptional. Our stay was memorable - we will be back.

Fantastic hotel. Loved everything, location, room, food and wildlife. Unbeatable for a relaxing holiday. Room had a spacious lounge and bedroom, lovely bathroom with views over the tree canopy. Saw lots of animals playing outside. Beautiful grounds and organic garden. Enjoyed the bicycles and a relaxing massage. The reception, lounge, bar and dining room were very authentic and had a peaceful, relaxed ambience. Staff were so friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. So good we didn't want to leave.

Location is far from the Colombo airport but I did not regret my stay at all. We had a warm welcome by the friendly and considerate staff. Excellent turn down service every evening too. Highly recommend to all travellers to the city.

The location is quite far from any shops or restaurants. Each villa is an apartment located in the apart accessible by bikes provided or electric buggies on request. In fact there were no restaurants nearby but that seems to be the case in Sri Lanka. The food in the hotel was excellent and service was of the highest standard. It is the place to go if you want to be away from the crowd however if you want excursions, these can be arranged by the hotel.

Our stay at Uga Ulagalla was by far the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka. Far from the busy roads and honking buses this multi acre property was an oasis. Bungalows are situated all over the property, some with private plunge pools. Rooms are large with an entry way, living room, dressing area, oversized bathroom and bedroom. The food was delicious with a variety of entrees between Western and Sri Lankan. The Sri Lankan food was outstanding. Arrival greeting and check-in is friendly, relaxing and low key. You are met in the lobby area of a beautifully restored old Dutch home. The restaurant is upstairs on the second floor - completely open to the surrounding views. Transportation around the large property is by golf cart or bicycles. Every bungalow is provided the requested number of bicycles. Our children happily explored the grounds at their leisure. There are multiple activities available to you and your family from nature walks to kayaking. Cost: it is not an inexpensive place to stay. Good service and attention will cost you more. However, on the subject of meals: meals are costly (lunch and dinner), and prices rival a fine dining restaurant in San Francisco or New York (US$ 28-35/entree), but don't quite match the quality for that price. A little steep for the middle of Sri Lanka.

This is the first resort that I have rated as 5 overall. The resort was fantastic, the villa were clean, well stocked and very comfortable (we even had the extra bed for our daughter and there was ample room. Service by all the staff was fantasic, from arrival and the welcome ritual all the way to checkout. The buggy drivers were good, knowledgeable about the restort and the wildlife and very curtious, when delivering luggage or transporting us. If there was a complaint, its a long drive from the airport, so plan a stop on route and the bikes are getting old so could do with a service but work great.

The hotel was in very good shape. All appeared very clean. They had a full hot breakfast for morning and a reception at night that could have been used for your supper. They also can give you coupons for 10%off a really good resturant right next door. A very good overall motel.

We enjoyed our stay in your hotel. The room was very nice and the breakfast food was good. We will probably stay in this hotel again when we visit the Irving/Grand Prarie area. The people at the front desk were friendly and made us feel at home. Thanks

This is not a business hotel & I warn businesspeople to stay away. The hotel was full of families & teenagers travelling in groups. It was noisy, the room was small & stuffy, the bathroom was clean but not stocked with toiletries. I got out of there as quickly as possible.
