This was the worst hotel stay of my life. The owner and his wife screamed at each other all night and day. The owner entered our room while we were sleeping. The owner yelled at me when I went to check out and requested a printed copy of my receipt. I paid the bill, and then he grabbed the paperwork, yelled at me, and stormed out. When he came back, I used Google translate on my phone to help make sure I hadn't said something wrong given the language barrier. Again, using Google translate on my phone, I apologized for any confusion and asked for a printed copy of the bill. He yelled at me and grabbed me by my wrists and shook me. My sister and I had already paid, so we grabbed our luggage and left immediately. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone given the experience. I have never been yelled at before like this-- much less assaulted.

My hotel room was nice, but noisy during the night and very early morning. People talking loud and doors slamming. The hotel is located on the second floor, but there is no elevator from the street to the first floor this is a struggle when traveling with heavy luggage. The hotel is conveniently located two blocks away from the train station.

Great hosts, clean, incredibly convenient to the train station to drop our bags and venture out to see Firenze. Beds comfy, large room.

Initial problem with the hotel unable to trace my online booking, but fortunately a room was available. One of several hotels in the same building. Clean, functional and (by Florentine standards) reasonably cheap, but very basic - a bit of a throwback to the 1980s (but not in a retro way). My room was at the front and so subject to a lot of street noise – especially the cleaning at about 1am. Very convenient location, close to the railway station and the sights. Proprietor was friendly enough, but did not speak English and seemed reluctant to speak Italian slowly enough for me to understand.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Serena, it was a homely feel, being so far away from home. Handy location to trains,&short walk to town centre, nice balcony off room.

Fairly basic but comfortable accommodation. Owners helpful but speak little English. Street was a bit noisy overnight...people rather than traffic.

Home run hotel with very basic essentials. There's communication problem because the owners could only speak Italian. Our room was cold as the heating didn't function well. Blanket was old. There's also a dog in d hotel. Not a pleasant stay for our 4 nights there and it was expensive. We booked this hotel at the last minute because Hotel Consigli which we had booked months ahead informed us at last minute to cancelled our booking with them as they r renovating their rooms. I'm very unhappy with this as we had a very hard time finding another decent hotel at reasonable rate. The owner gave us a firenze magnet as a gesture of thanks.

The hotel is very close to Santa Maria Nouvella station - just about 7-9 minutes walk. Our room wasspacious and clean. The breakfast start was at 7:30 am but since we had to leave even earlier, they served us early.... very impressed indeed. And they kept our luggage for us.

The hotel is conviniently located close to the train terminal. The hotel was clean but it is about it. The owners didn t speak anything but Italian. The breakfast was poor. We could hardly get any shampoo or soap for our room. The hotel was outdated and offered a very basis level of confort. It would rather be described as an hostel that an hotel per say. Even the only employee that could speak English didnt make any effort to satisfy us on any level.

Stayed for 4 nights. Reasonable price, very close and convenient to train station and conference center in a good neighborhood (better than hotel in the other side of train station). Walking distance from all places of interests, since Florence is not a large city. Check in & out was in English and with good introduction to Florence. Room was comfortable and tidy. Warm and rich breakfast with Cappuccino every morning prepared by the old gentleman. The keys need to be stored in hotel without taking out, yet I felt safe since they were very alert every time I go in & out. Will stay again if revisit Florence.

We had a great stay at the hotel. The room was fine with a view of the street. Only steps away from the train station. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was very close to the train station which was very nice, but the walls were extremely thin and heard lots of noise in our room, had trouble sleeping because of it. When we checked in, the gal at the front desk spoke English - we didn't see her the rest of the time and no one else that worked at the hotel spoke any English. This was mildly frustrating.

Very reasonable three star hotel. Very comfortable bed. Good coffee. Good location for conferences and station and not too far to sights. They just need to check nighttime telephone and door bell noise (best avoid any rooms beside reception).

Hotel less than a 5 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella Train Station. Very convenient to the sights we wanted to see and the museums. Bed was brand new mattress and a bit stiff but overall good value for money. Breakfast very nice and just enough, coffee good.

Great breakfast, great service, spacious room, reasonably close to tourist sites.Close to quite a few restaurants. Location could be noisy at night. A bit hard to locate as it was on the second floor and not prominently identified. The staff spoke minimal English but did a great job of being of service anyway. It was a good value for the cost.

We had no trouble finding the hotel - just a 5 minute walk from train station. The location is great - everything to see and do within a 30 minute walk radius. Restaurants, stores and market around the corner. Owner spoke only a few words of English but through sign language and my dictionary I got him to book us a tour. Continental breakfast was limited but fresh and tasty. He made the best capuccino in our travels! Owner was really nice (outwardly looked like a typical "grumpy old man"!) and helpful. We would recommend the Hotel to everyone.
