Always my first hotel option. Don't expect luxury but this is a comfortable, good value hotel with an excellent location. On the edge of the Zona Rosa, it escapes the noise but is only a short walk from the metrometrometro,andsurrounded by cafes restaurants. Light ,

Everything worked out perfectly.

I booked and paid my reservation on Expedia. When I arrived they said they did not have my reservation in their system. I showed them the reservation and receipt but they had no room for me. I had to leave to another hotel and called Expedia who issued my refund.

It's al ond building, basic and if you're on a budget it works.

The property is just what we needed for our stay, a clean, quiet, and safe place. While we had no shower/ water temperature issues as other reviewers had, we did have a toilet that was malfunctioning. The response from the staff was prompt and kind. Additionally, we had an unfortunate and unexpected health situation the night of arrival. The front desk was quick to call for help without any hesitation. A day after returning from the hospital, the staff did a wefare check. Once recovered, Diana from the reception desk helped us schedule tours. We were able to save on the cost when compared to Viator and Get-Your-Guide. All in all, our stay was great. Be mindful when reading other reviews. This is not the Ritz Carlton. You are not paying for a high-end resort. The bathroom is small and you don't get all the amenities of such a hotel. If you plan on enjoying the city and surrounding areas all day, this place is perfect for the price point. Additionally, you can walk to coffee shops, restaurants, street vendors, and the metro station. We had an excellent stay at Hotel del Principado.

Hotel Principado is a small, simple hotel near the Zona Rosa in Mexico City; For the past fifteen years I have visited there at least twice a year and absolutely love it. I've known four of the staff members for all those years and they treat me like family when I come to visit. It's a lovely, shady old fashioned neighborhood lined with trees and walking distance to anything you might want or need. In fact, it's walking distance to some of the finest restaurants - like the Casa de Mariachis where there is an 8PM Cultural Floor Show that can't be beat - after enjoying a delicious meal of Mexican BBQ and side dishes. Chapultepec Palace is within walking distance and in all these years I've never seen everything in that palace or its surrounding park. The hotel is simple, no a/c because you don't need it and a lovely dining room and restaurant. There is a business area where you can use a computer or sit and read. The street food surrounding the hotel is more than delicious and two blocks away is Bellinghausen a restaurant founded by a German Chef in 1915 and it's the kind of elegant that has gone right out of fashion - fabulous meals and the finest service in Mexico. Hotel del Principado has become my home away from home. Yes, it could use a coat of paint, but, I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

The waitress men work in the restaurant he's horrible he treats you with no respect he showed no respect for the Spanish people he's very friendly with an Asian people people they speak English but the Spanish people he is horrible treating them

Close to everything....location, location, location. Small boutique hotel, could run out quickly in case of an earthquake.

I liked that it was so close to the embassy and CAS and parking safe and easy. I did not like that I paid for 4 people and there were only two towels and they were not very happy to give us more towels.

The staff there are beyond caring , and very very nice!!!

Good stay overall clean comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Two negatives. The wifi signal was very weak and at times unusable. For a hotel in this class and price solid good wifi should be a given. Also the pillows were very uncomfortable. Fortunately I brought my own but if I had'nt, I wouldn't have rested well.
