Cool old hotel. Nice staff at check in. Rooms are very dated. Bed was too soft (uncomfortably so) and the curtains didnt keep the light out of the room. Expected much nicer for the price paid for the room.

Could be a very nice boutique hotel. Broken items in the hotel rooms, found other people’s items in places that should have been cleaned before our arrival.

The room was immaculately clean and the towels and bedding were top notch. However…the hotel itself is just

The lobby is dimly lit, and it looks really outdated. I understand the decore/era but everything is brown, very drabby. The young lady that checked us in, her demeanor was very much like the decor, drabby.

Hotel itself was nice. Area outside had loud construction during the day and loud vehicles at night.

Old building. No fridge. Room was dark and it had no view. It’s just facing other side of the same hotel. Felt cluster phobic.

Hotel is historic & very beautiful. Room was spacious & comfortable. No on-site restaurants except for coffee shop (which had excellent food but only til 2pm) and no on-site parking, which were too bad.

The room was great. The fitness room could use a makeover. Public Espresso is the best coffee shop in Buffalo, hands down!

The bed, shower/tub, and overall layout of the room are great! I booked the hotel because my wife loves Art Deco and we were not disappointed! We attended a Buffalo Bisons game that was just a few blocks away! I highly recommend Hotel Lafayette for you stay in Buffalo!

Everything was great except the bathroom in Room 225. For over $500 per night, bathroom seems like one in a horror movie - middle light is flickering, tiles are missing on where you stand. The bathtub cannot be used as the nice looking metal drain plug does not work, and it looks like it hasn't been used or cleaned with small amount of hair and pieces of things in the bathtub. The shower is open design but the water goes everywhere in the bathroom outside. What a weird negative feature to an otherwise great hotel. If staff actually care to ask, comments would be shared. Minimal interaction at check in and out, which is also slightly weird (but not negative) but efficient.

I love the building. So much history. We stayed here about 5 years ago. It just seems like things are slipping a bit in terms of amenities and overhaul care of the property. The restaurant is now closed and other rooms in the hotel not being used. It just feels like they are moving backwards. I get it. I know it’s a large building and if business hasn’t been that good or guest levels have been down, it doesn’t make sense to keep everything open, but I just feel its definitely a downward trend. It’s a shame. Such a beautiful building.

This property needs investment. Staff was not very professional. The first room I was given was made up. Second was so humid that furniture was damp. Floor tiles were missing in the shower. The hotel is dark and dingy. The neighborhood wasn’t great. Would not recommend this hotel.

No parking provided you have to park street side. A lot of homeless around and walking nearby was not safe.
