Lovely stay throughout. Staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to help. Breakfast delicious. Bed comfortable.

Breakfast was ok, staff really good friendly and helpful but the property leaves a lot to be desired. Very dated and in real need of modernisation. We booked a room with a 4 poster bed then on arrival were told we had a free upgrade to a 4 poster room.... Strange seeing as that's what we requested anyway. Room was at best ok. The bed was pretty wobbly. Ceiling in the room was a false ceiling of tiles like you would find in an office and there have clearly been several leaks coming through from the floor above judging by the stains on show. Flooring was not the greatest in the bathroom area, a broken floorboard under the lino not been fixed causes you to almost fall over when you are not expecting the floor to give way on you. Electric shower and the water pressure was quite weak. We won't be returning.

The room was excellent, lovely and clean. The staff were very friendly and were happy to help. Breakfast was lovely. There isn't a huge amount of parking so this could be a problem if the hotel is busy.

Loved our stay at Brookside. We know where we'll be next trip to Chester!! Lovely family run hotel. Owner and staff go above and beyond to ensure a lovely experience for guests. Rooms comfy and cosy. Easy walking distance to city centre.

Traditional British style smaller hotel, not too far from town. Parking was a little bit tight. Room was quite small but comfortable. Pretty good.

It’s worth the money no complaints

We wanted a somewhat old-fashioned and traditional experience, but the hotel was a little too old fashioned. Because it was October, the lack of air conditioning wasn’t a problem - but it would be a different story if it was a really hot summer day. There seemed to be ample parking, but both nights that we returned from supper about 8:00pm, the lot was full of vans and there was no where to park. The staff were helpful in my finding on street parking, but it was a very narrow street and I was concerned about my rental car getting side-swiped.

Staff and management very good and wait staff polite and had a lovely manner. Breskfast good. Shower head in room needs some attention as appears to have build up of dirt or something on it.

All very nice and happy.
