Long walk from town and taxi numbers reception gave us were unattainable. Swimming pool was too hot for July. Would recommend getting hotel closer to amenities.

Excellent hotel staff and restaurant

Very impressive infrastructure and very impressive view over looking the whole city. Looks and feels like the palace it is. Receptionist even added a touch of French in his welcoming.

Truly beautiful location. Excellent food and such friendly staff. Immaculate. You can feel the history. Next to Castillo de Lorca. Outstanding for the price !

Nice pleasant hotel and comfortable stay. We chose the hotel because it was a Spa hotel however we were very disappointed to find out that the Swimming pool and Spa were only open for 4 hours 4:30 - 8:30pm. We already had other things planned after checking in and were therefore unable to use the facilities that afternoon. We were planning to use them in the morning for an early swim, so that was a negative for us.

Lovely hotel ... a bit lacking in atmosphere, but spotless and stunning setting. The stairs shortcut into town were under repair when we were there, so the walk into the old town was a long one. Swimming pool was nice, but a bit annoying that the sauna / steam room / hot tub were 35 Euro per person to use for residents !

Easy walk to castle next door, with great views and lovely gardens.

Property was lovely and very large with grea views. Restaurant and bar area lovey, attentive staff and wonderful selection of food. A drive from centre of Lorca but that was easy.

Overall service was good. Food was average. Would be nice if a kettle is provided in room. Castle is right beside so it’s great for 1st time visitor. Best to include breakfast when you book your room as nothing around the hotel except the castle. Being high up in the mountain with a great view. There was no water in the rooms this morning but eventually fixed. The key card did not work so well, lights were all off for 3 times during our two nights stay.

Check in was good. Unfortunately a strong smell of what seemed like sewage in the entrance. There had been heavy rain recently so maybe why? We booked a Junior Suite which was two huge rooms. Front room was a little bare but had a big sofa bed and a small TV. Bedroom felt warmer and had a nice four poster bed and another TV. Bathroom excellent with a nice shower and jetted bathtub. Bathrobes and towels were of a good quality. We booked half board which is worth it. Excellent dinner with huge portions that were nicely presented and great quality. Patience is needed as our dinner started at 8.30pm and ended at 10.55pm. Pricing for wine and drinks was very good with excellent wine. We did not use the pool. Views are amazing even on a rainy day. The area of Lorca below is quite modern and built up. I had thought it was in more of a rural area. Parking is free and during the hot summer months has shaded screens. Overall would be happy to stay here again

Excellent location at the Castillo. Good sized room, very clean. Very comfortable mattress. The main problem is the town is far below and hard work to walk to and from. For this reason we ate in the hotel restaurant as we couldn't face another walk up the hill. In fact it turned out to be an exceptional restaurant.

Great location amongst the castle. Staff could be more friendly and welcoming. Breakfast a little busy at times but food good. Shame there is a charge for the spa facilities, not clear from website. Rooms basic but comfortable.
