The Old Lock Up was clean, warm, and welcoming. I stayed for 3 nights in the Solicitor's room, which I found pleasant and characterful, with a comfortable bed and a good sized ensuite. It was very quiet with really thick walls. The breakfast was great and beautifully cooked. The property is well situated a short walk from the centre of Wirksworth. I managed it easily even with a sprained ankle. I had a very pleasant stay.

Our stay in the magistrate’s room was great, the room was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was a treat and the location is good. Will be back.

Had a lovely 2 nights, mid-week at the Old Lockup. Very characterful and full of memorabilia from when it was a police station. Stayed in The Magistrates room on the first floor, very warmly decorated and furnished with a small en-suite. With Tea,Coffee and even a small fridge with complimentary bottle of milk and water. Breakfast provided, from a full English to pancakes. Owner really nice, and accommodating - nothing would've been too much trouble. Free small carpark onsite, with a large free parking area across the road Given your own keys to come and go even you wish, the local are Wirksworth was lovely. Had a tapas and quiz night in the Hope n Anchor which was very relaxed and a good laugh. St Marys church is beautifully adornedvl with saxon carvings and definitely shouldn't be missed. Overall could not fault it, and looking forward to visiting again xx

The Old Lockup is a lovely place to spend some time. It is calm and relaxing. Tim, the host, is very helpful and cooks a wonderful fresh breakfast to order every morning. There is lots in the area to see and do.

Love how the history of building is still around and left on display and whole town is peaceful and historic. Have plenty of walks near by and good range of shops and restaurants in walking distance

We had the Magistrates room which was lovely,we had visited a few weeks earlier to have a chat with Tim the owner and have look around the town because we had a trip booked on the heritage railway closeby for my birthday. We had arranged with Tim for him to cook us a meal. The room had 2 slight faults one being the tv had very limited channels and the toilet seat wouldn't stay up but overall we had a great stay.

We stayed in the Magistrate's Room, which was a good size, with a comfy bed. Lovely and warm too. Tea, coffee and milk provided. En suite was not up to my expectations. Louvre door to toilet, so no privacy. Electric shower didnt have much gusto. Toilet seat didn't stay up. Very small room. Needs a redecorate too. Decent breakfast, but not exciting. Host very accommodating and provided a takeaway breakfast roll for one of our mornings.
