We booked this hotel as a stop off as part of our road trip from UK to Austria. Chose location as not far from Spa Francorchamps race circuit. The hotel is in a beautiful location slightly off the beaten track just outside Malmedy.
The check in was easy and receptionist was friendly and helpful. We'd arrived on an evening when the restaurant wasn't open. We drove back towards Malmedy for food. Unfortunately a storm came through, which was intense (to put it mildly.) The roads on the way back had water flowing down them. A massive hailstorm then started and we had to park for a while. When we could drive back to the hotel, we found at the location a storm drain was unable to cope with the amount of water and was spectacularly overflowing blocking the road. We drove out of the valley for an hour or so before returning when things had settled.
A couple of properties at the complex had been flooded and people moved out. Our first floor room was fine. The young receptionist was brilliant and stated she had not seen conditions like had been experienced.
After all of the above, would we stay again? Yes. This was a freak weather condition and the hotel and complex appears great. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.
